Also, Ananya is better than Jhanvi, Sara and Tara in acting.
What's going on? Has the definition of Superstar changed all of a sudden? Ananya is mediocre at best and is going to remain that way. She's never going to reach the pinnacle of success unless she does a 360 degree turn and becomes a great actress with a lot of range and depth, good dialogue delivery, poise, grace etc.

First, let's break the assumption that to be a superstar you need to be a great actress. Look at Katrina, for example. She's a below average actress, but a superstar in her own right.
Second, Ananya is not as bad as projected. The meme material which she has provided so unwittingly has become so intricately bound with who she is, that people are unable to see beyond it. Onscreen, she has the potential to succeed and I agree that though she's mediocre as of now, I saw glimpses of who she COULD be in Pati Patni aur woh.
Thirdly, acting aside, and just keeping popularity in mind and the way Bollywood is structured, I predict her to be the next superstar. When I talk of superstar, I mean within the framework and ambit of superstardom an actress can achieve, not the Khan level of superstardom.

Aishwarya is not a great actress but she is a Superstar. I agree about the part where you say that it's not necessary to be a great actress to be a Superstar.
BUT
Popularity is such a dubious word nowadays. Youtubers are popular, social media influencers are popular so it's easy to be popular unlike the good old days. So, that is no barometer to judge Superstardom.
So, either be a great actress to be achieve Superstardom or be a star with such aura and someone who is charismatic, unattainable and become a Superstar.
"Not bad" is a term that I use for 90% of the actresses in Bollywood. That doesn't make them Superstar material. Potential is just potential until it is tapped and used. Parineeti had a lot of potential and that got her nowhere so again, nothing concrete.
So, I finally watched Chand Mera Dil. It left a sweet taste behind. At its heart, this is not really a love story. It is a relationship story. A...
