Naagin 5 - Double Take 15

Heya fellas, I am back with my review for the weekend, and I am kind of exasperated with the way the plot has shaped up since Chandrakala and neither am I happy with how VAni has progressed. This week was a total filler week. I did not get the head and tail of the last 4 episodes. It makes no bloody sense. Everything looks so misplaced boss. Not that I am completely disappointed, because there were bits which were good in the episodes, lekin sachmuch, it was tedious watching the weekender for me. Matlab bahut jaktojehat karni padi ye episodes dekhne ke liye. So getting on with my review, here it goes:

Highlights - Yayyy!!!👍🏼

Ballu the bear - Oh, you guys have no idea how happy I was seeing Ballu the dad in action. The man was freaking out about Veeranshu crashlanding on the moon and knew that there is a bigger storm ahead of him if Veeranshu does not make it out. Still, the man and Tapish maintained semblance and played along with Bani just fine, because all of them know what can trigger Veeranshu's control-freak streak. And the most amazebomb that Ballu dropped, "Thank You"👏 to Bani, his enemy. It must take a lot from an egoist like Balwant to actually say that. But I know he pulled it off because the father to Veeranshu was speaking there. Finally, got to see a comradeship moment here. And the common point of affection is - Veeranshu. And then in the cave, he was like, "I am happy for once that Bani and her love for Veeranshu has won". Brownie points to Ballu, the dad. I was so so so happy with this development. Thank you makers for this.👍🏼

The Cheels - Okay, so the Cheels were useful. At least audience banke khade nahi the. They contributed by fending off the centipedes. I know they aren't the strongest Cheels, but at least they all tried and did not leave it all to Adi Naagin to go into her, "Save the Day" mode. Anyway, Bani is such an egoist, we don't need to give her any further reasons to fan herself for her powers, which looks like till the end will remain invisible only🤔. Brownie points to Ponky as well, to go and pull away Meera so that she does not harm herself. For the first time, he did not hide behind his dad but was hiding Meera behind himself. Applauds to Ponky👏It is so ironic that this is the same Ponky who could care less for women when it comes to business, but now that women are his family, he is trying in his own small way to protect them. He was really cute when he tried to splash ice water on Veeranshu's face to wake him. The little brother talking I guess.😆 Tapish was in form as the older brother. I liked that they utilized all the Cheels in both episodes. Hopefully, we get to see more of them in action next week and some Cheel-Naagin camaraderie further.

Irony of life with Bani - Waise to I have not much positive to say about Bani, and I still have to reach the negative bit. But in both episodes, I was just observing how life is going a full circle with Bani. Before she had sight and could not see Veeranshu or his earnest appeals of love, and when she wants to see him and get that same love back, she has to lose her sight to do the same. Before, Veeranshu made promises and lived up to each and every one of them, and now Bani is making promises, God knows if she lives up to them or not. Before all she could do was inflict pain, and now all she was getting is pain in return. Those tears are not hers', those are the unshed tears which Veeranshu wept, and Bani ignored. I liked the subtlety with which they highlighted these points. Kudos to that!👏

The Marriage Vows - I was actually quite happy with how the vows were worded. Be it about moving on from Satyug, rewriting the VAni story in the present, loyalty, blind faith, and unconditional love. All the vows were apt and relevant to the situation. I liked it how the vows started with Veeranshu from the moon and ended with Bani on Earth. Since the love story is so unconventional, so is the marriage. They are seated with different partners but are giving vows to each other. That was the only thing that remained to happen in this marriage. Pehle sindoor, phir mangalsutra, phir mehendi, phir suhaagraat, phir saat vachan aur phere, aur last me exchanging rings hogi. Ajeeb jodi ki ajeeb shaadi ki rasme. Laga di dono ne law and order ki🤣🤣

Disconnect with Bani - Okay, so I have always been disconnected with her, and dislike the character, but ab to jyaada hone laga hai after her going all lovey-dovey with Veeranshu. I mean, chal kya raha hai??? Pehle uske nafrat se connect karna mushkil tha, ab uske pyaar ke saath connect karna mushkil hai. Uska emotion mujh tak nahi pahunchta. Aisa bhi nahi hai that I am too biased to Veeranshu. But jitna uss bande ne iss panauti madam ko jhela hai, including us, uska to 1 percent bhi kuch nahi hua ab tak Bani ke saath. She has not been redeemed properly and her love holds no depth, cause we did not get to know how and why she fell for Veeranshu??? Emotional depth is absent in Bani. Neither I see her love for her family, neither I see her bond with Jai, neither I see her love for Veeranshu. To bacha kya bandi me dekhne ko. Why does every emotion and equation look so half-hearted? The anger I saw in her when Jai was supposedly killed, I did not see 1 percent of that after he was exposed. The love which they are trying to convince me of needed more meaningful conversations and monologues, cause this falling in love looks so sudden and out of place. When I can't connect with love, how can the consummation be justified? Ab hi 2 din pehle pyaar, aur 2 din baad consummation, mazaak chal raha hai kya? Aur family ke saath to chod hi do. Uski family sirf Meera hi hai, kyunki baaki kisi aur ke saath equation to hai hi nahi. I don't have a problem with flawed character, woh to Veeranshu bhi hai, Jai bhi hai, lekin bandi ke liye root kar saku aisa kuch to ho. I am sorry, I can no longer associate or connect with Bani, and it becomes difficult to watch it that way. And I am sorry, lekin uska rona bilakna, although I wanted to see it, but it annoyed the hell out of me. Sar pakad ke baith ke dekhna pada. Haaye re Bani!🤔

Chandini - The woman is a nightmare of sorts. Usko dekh kar aisa laga ki main "Chaand ki Chandni" kam, "Chanda Chudail ka badla" dekh rahi hu. Like the big eyes and big teeth highlighted the terror she is, and her makeup just enhanced that. She was hideous. Who said she looked, nice boss. She wasn't at all.

Observations:

I am thoroughly appalled at how many loose ends there are which haven't been addressed, and these people don't seem bothered or interested also. Like can someone explain why it has not been shown? Who killed Teer and Monil? What was Shukla's agenda and why he wants to hurt his own kind? These issues can be sorted in a jiffy without too much drama, but they don't seem to plan on showing any of this. Cannot just brush it under the carpet. TRP aunties did not even watch the entire show, we have and we remember. We made this show popular, thoda humko bhi dekho.

Speaking of explanations, the Cheel Rajkumar and Adi Naagin equation also has not been explained. And this is not like Naagin fell for a human, which is against natural order. But here there are many issues - they are natural enemies, they are reincarnated, they are prophesied and destined to be together. But why? What is so special about this union? Could they care to explain? Or they have some shitty explanation like "Shiv ki leela" types because then it is a massive let down.

Coming to the precap, that girgit mausa Jai is not supposed to die so soon. Because he is the 3rd lead. Unless the show is nearing the end. Bani was actually firm on punishing him with death, matlab kuch jyaada hi bada kaand kiya hoga bande ne. And "woh sabko maar degi" has to be Chandrakala right? Or is there some other villain lady? Has to be her? Who else would it be otherwise?

Btw, ye "Pyaar ko nilaam" karne wala kya scene hai that Chandrakala told Ballu? Uska koi jawab milega or we should just think it is some random dialogue, kyunki overanalyze karna vyarth hai iss show me.

Also, could they care to explain how Jai manifested so much powers in just a couple of hours? Kaunsa chiraag ka djinn mil gaya usko? Aur kaise powers hai ye jisne pure Jai ke look ko transform karke rakh diya? Well, look forward to any opinions or views, kyunki expecting answers from makers is pointless.

Here I ammmmmm - sorry if this is a repetition of everything I have previously said can't keep track 😆 Will keep it short and snappy- went over the top in my written update!

I loved the vows- whoever wrote the vows should have written the script of this whole series please. This is what Veer wanted to hear and what we have wanted to hear. I like that they bought the darkness and light in that. The writers didn't probably realise that. I love both SM and SC in this scene and their expressions bang on- even though they didn't shoot together 👍🏼 Also the way dhabbewala was staring at Bani I was like ehhhh why are you looking at your bhabi like that. As expected it was the love confession that broke Veer's hypnosis. Even though the way they made it clear he was hypnotised still wasn't clear but anyway.

The actress that played Chandini was ok- tolerable for the episodes she was in. The make up was over the top maybe that was to show she wasn't good despite her wearing white- which is normally associated with 'good'. I would rather not deal with her anymore personally. I hope we don't have to- there are new entries anyway next week.

Ballu's character progression as we discussed earlier- I really liked how they showed his love and care for Veer as his son not some prince. The fact that he praised Bani is a BIG thing for him. But there is something about his powers that Ballu wants to control and Cobra Amma knows that. They have tension lol that whole conversation I was like hang on Cobra Amma you did love lapata with Jai's dad- but Ballu seems to have sworn of woman so why are you taunting him about love 🤔 Watch how the writers forget this.

Bani aka Mrs Singhania- I personally liked the biwi wala rant she did- it was cute. But I also understand why you might not relate to because the whole love has been rushed and with the shoddy editing job it has been hard to see consistency. For me personally I always wanted to see bani like this completely, unconditionally and totally in love with Veer. And to be fair for the last couple of episodes she has shown that consistency which was missing earlier.

The Bani now is the one that Veer has made her want to be with him. She literally cannot see past him. I was holding out for that as well thought when her tears fell on him - it would wake him up then realised that’s too predictable for muktas difficultwala love I liked how the intersected that with the flashbacks and she remembered the pain, annoyance and frustration Veer would have felt and channelled that.

I agree it would have been better if Veer was conscious and these two had a heart to heart. But I do think this and the last three episodes were about Bani and is understanding how much she loves Veer. We know how much veer loves bani- it’s been four months and now it was banis turn. For her to feel that pain/jealousy/frustration/desperation that Veer felt for so long. And they decided to rush it which is why we got it for three episodes- which is why I guess it harder to connect with. I have no expectations any more- I wanted a hug got a sleeping hug will take that But I agree with you those tears and that breakdown felt more for Veer because she dished out WAY more hurt/hatred and pain. They literally made this marriage a two way street.

Also that whole thing about what was in the box- it was a gift for her 🤣 oh mere aadhi naagin trust you to make this a bit more about you 🤣Also the way she straddled him sorry 😆 but can I say they still had chemistry even though Veer was sleeping- this is why I am still here I think in the whole series this is the most emotional and vulnerable I have seen Bani- and I liked it! But I think the last three episodes have been about Bani Singhania and her love for Veer. Her love and concern for Veer. I think this episode showed her desperation again especially through her monologue- I think Surbhi acted well today.

When the centipede attack happened and he came down. I liked that the first thing when Veer woke up he said was Veer. I also noticed that each time Bani woke up the first thing she said was Veeranshu The first thing she asked is tum thik ho I was like you’ve come a long way my love. Chipku bani is what I want to see. Like I’ve said she will tolerate an attack on herself not Veer. Which is why her reaction to Jai was so extreme in the precap. Totally loved the cheel and Aadhi Naagin mash up that happened against the insects- about time they did something. And the ponky scene- good spot- he was protecting the lady in his family. Meera is getting to much screen space- I am telling you there is some problem there.

I loved Chachi she needs to stay when she was like call a doctor and Daksh said what will we tell them that he fell from the moon. And she was like he did... that is how I feel when I watch these episodes 🤣

This track I think is there to explore veers powers and why he’s meant to be so powerful and special. Because everyone atm thinks it’s impossible for him to get his powers back. Obviously bani Will help which might link to why these two are meant to be together. Also those new guys are the centipedes I think- because when in the BTS Bani is going there with that bottle she found in Jai's room.

I also liked the scene at the end between them- Bani making it clear she is with him through his tough times cheel or no cheel she loves Veer. Veer is her choice. I love the way SM portrayed the lost and vulnerable Veer- the human Veer.

Also Mohit the actor- I think he has improved a LOT. His evilness is no longer over the top its subtle and more measured. Which I prefer and paves way for him being a stronger villain. Honestly there was a clear contrast in his character before the makeover. So good job Mohit 👍🏼

However, the character Dhabbewala annoyed me- ermm why did he think he could make Bani feel guilty about choosing Veer. Ermm you have tried to kill her numerous times....and then him being made to be a 'hero' and saving the day and taunting Veer. Cannot wait till he's shown his place next week. Also what is with this new eye colour he has LOL also the way nobody commented on his new look hopefully someone does next week 😆 Also when did he become more powerful than Bani? Golmaal hai. Also the focus on the water towards the end after Jai saves the day - I feel like Jai is being set up don't ask me why and its Meera jhol.

The precap I loved even if its a lollipop scene for two seconds. The reason for that is because Bani is firstly emotionally vulnerable, secondly telling veer he was right (this is just the start Bani!) and thirdly going to him for comfort. And lastly attacking dhabbewala FOR veer- whether he attacked Veer or not this time. Don't care he had it coming long time. I was waiting to see this. Also the way Veer did that head tilt and the way he looks at Jai indicates to me Veeranshu Singhania the Cheel is back- not just the shapeshifter but the sassy Veer. I think the Veer we will get is going to be more evolved than the previous Veer we had hopefully. But like I said no expectations!

Dhabbewala isn't going anywhere- he won’t die Bani will save him either to repay the favour of getting veer back from the moon or find out who he’s talking about. He didn’t get this new look for two episodes Don't kill me but I have a strong feeling meera is going to be negative she’s getting too much screen space

Sorry it turned out to be very long 😆 I know what the promo will be I can guess the two new entries in shadows and they will be like are these aadhi naagin's friends or dushman- what twist will their entry be 😆

I was also turned off by this weeks episodes. I still watch only for sharbhi. Still have not heard the long overdue i love you from bani, an intimate one on one convo between vani and a hug. Is janam me nahi milenge lagta hai. Feel sad for the actors. They are performing wonderfully and get no help in terms of story , screenplay, promotion and reruns at a different time.

I liked sunday's episode more than Saturday one. I know last few episodes were illogical but still I liked few parts of them. As I always said I am watching this show with zero expectations and without finding any logic so I did not dislike these episode.

Yeah the positive part of these episodes were the comeback of Ballu and cheel. They were in show but from many episodes they were like statue but finally during this track we get to see them. Finally we got to see ballu who is worried for his son. Aaj ballu ko dekh kar start waly ballu ki yaad agai who used to be Intelligent and concerned about his veer.

Also I liked to see Cheel in action especially Tapish yeah not in full fledge action but atleast they were doing something. Even shukla got dialogues in today's episode.

Ballu and Bani scenes were interesting. She was in full bahu mode. How sweetly she was calling him daddyji 😂. I liked that both bani and ballu got worried for most important person of their life Veer. I actually wanted to see their alliance against their common enemies.

The vows part was amazing. Each and every vow was so appropriate. They were just looking at each other. Their connection is so strong that no one can separate them even if the distance between them is great. You beautifully penned the sequence of events in Vani's life starting from Ajeeb o gareeb shadi to real sindoor MS to these vows. I hope iss ky baad agla number love confession ka ho.

I know you don't like bani even bani is not my favorite as well but still I got connected with her and I liked to saw her crying and getting emotional for veer. I always wanted to see bani's tadap for veer. Bani's emotions for veer. I hope it happened all of the sudden. But I believed that bani has started falling for veer after shakura track and than she was in complete love after knowing that veer saved her in childhood. Unfortunately makers wrote her character so inconsistently ek episode main lagta tha that she loves veer agli main bani aisa kuch karti thi ky pyar ka naam o nishaan nazar nhi ataa hai. Makers just wanted us to assume by ourself. Chalo I m happy that finally bani is accepting her mistakes and she have realized that she tortured veer. I know cheelu bani ko zaida nhi tadapaye ga. He will never treat bani like bani used to treat him.

That chandni and chand part was so bad.

Makers need to un-reveal past murder mysteries. Shukla need to get expose. Vani's connection need to explore. Want to see Vani's powers. Want to see Cheels in action. I don't get it how jay got so many powers I hope we will get to see the hidden motives of jay.

Looking forward to coming week. I hope we will get proper Vani scene. Jay is not going to die that's for sure.

I skipped the Saturday episode and watched the sunday episode with zero expectations.

The episode is okay..ish for me.

Thank god the cheel gang is used atleast instead of being mute spectators.

Ballu and Bani - I always wanted to see them in same team working together for veer...glad to see their equation.

I liked ponky today more than anyone else. He is so cute. Thanda pani daaldete hai bhai pe...and when he came to help meera even though he was afraid,I become impressed.

Ballu took so much time to accept bani as bahu .. probably because she is a naagin. He seems okay while interacting with meera ..

And Jai...achanak kya hogaya iskoo.. konsa pedh ke neeche jaake baitaa hai yeh jho isse itni shaktiyaan mili woh bhi few hours. And who was the "she" was he refering too? Chandrakala or anyone else?

And coming to the one and only aadinaagin - I completely gave up on her. Naa iski nafrat samajh mein aata thaa..naa iski pyaar samajh mein aa raha hai. Itni jaldi?

I blame writers for butchering her character. No monologues, no confessions. ... direct suhaagraat. I actually liked it when veer does Hasee toh phasee .. like when he tries to irritate bani by going after her...and when bani does the same today.. mereko itna accha nahi lagaa don't know why.

That's it over all. Next weekend bhi pehle I check the reviews and watch the episode later

Apt review Sohini 👍 This week's episodes were a dragfest, they already have a bank of episodes for next week as well, shot in advance. Nothing much left to say since the story has been ruined, the fake Maarkaat nonsense & Jai's on & off planning - plotting are not helping either. Bani was sad & down when Jai told her that they were supposed to be together. This makes her sudden realisation of love for Veeranshu all the more farcical. I don't know yaar, but her love for him lacks depth. Period. No amount of crying or vows can convince me that Bani loves Veeranshu as much as he loves her. Although for the sake of VAni progress, we have to accept it. Watching the show only for the actors now, no further expectations from the writers.

I agree yaar, this week was like all filler and stuff.

True, the cheels and Ballu progressed this week. Ballu's thanks to Bani and then trying to work with Bani. Coming far way from the egotistical Ballu who almost shouted when Veer suggested Bani would save them. He's going to be the papa bear from that gurrata hua bhalu.

I really feels like their relationship is lacking that emotional depth. They have intense chemistry and a strong love for each other but woh jo emotional depth hota hai ek marriage mein woh nahi dikhta.

I liked Bani's finally opening up. True, everything she's going through is still less compared to what Bani is going through but I see this way ki Bani is so used to Veer loving her unconditionally that now when it seems to taken away, she's coming out like that. Veer ko pehle pata tha Bani hated him. Not defending her but he had experienced her hatred and her disapproval. Like I was super used to my mom doing all the miscellaneous tasks for me like making sure clothes are washed on time, I get food on time and all such things. I never realized how much it was a help to me and how much I value it until I had to do all of them for myself. Bani's the same. She's used to Veer and for a long time took it for granted so when it seems to be going away from her, she's freaking out. That part I guess was showed well.

Sohini, no offense behen, but I think you've made up your mind not to like Bani so I guess that's why you're being able to change your opinion. But theek hai. You have strong reasons to do that.

Mujhe actually lagta hai ki kabhi kabhi they get Veer's character right. Him getting jealous about Jay holding Bani's hand. Then hearing out Bani and reacting to it. Finally returning to her. Even under control, it seemed like Veer. Matlab thoda sa badtameez, kaafi spoilt, uncaring for everyone but still having an emotional side. Then when he came back, his reaction when realizing he lost his powers.

What lacks is his reaction to things he did under control of Chandrakala.

Yeh chaand se gira wala point mujhe samajh hi nahi aata. Like how the hell is he alive? Behare kitne astronauts maare gaye space mein but humara Veeranshu aur Bani dono bach gaye. Haddi bhi nahi tooti kamaal hai... No severe injury. Log yahan building se gir ke marr jaate hai par yeh dono chaand se girke bhi zinda hai. They miss the whole point that Space is not called sky. But kitna bhi bhauk lu about logic, bewakoofi meri hogi ki I'm even pointing it out. Chodo.

Severely disappointed with Chandrakala as a villain. Kitne armaan sajaye the maine iske baare mein aur sabh phus ho gaya.

I did like the way they said those vows looking at each other. Bani's desperation when she kept asking Veer to come back. The whole scene where Bani was trying to get Veer to wake up. Devi gift laayi bhi toh apne liye. Come on, Bani, way to be self-centered. But theek hai, use chodo.

Cheels finally seemed to realize they're not regular humans. Ponky, well done, dude, you've got a bit up. Chalo, Meera ko protect karne toh gaya. Same people who decided to sit and drink while everyone looked for Meera during the watergate kaand.

Kuch cheezein acchi thi but kuch cheezien thodi filler lagi. They could have polished it but alright. Kya karein, viewers can't be choosers.

For me, this week was mostly, MEH....😆 The whole chaand thing was too much for me to take!🤔 I couldn't connect to the show LIKE AT ALL! But, unlike you, I liked VaNi's progression in this week! It was subtle, but it was all bani in the forefront struggling to make this rather unconventional marriage WORK, for once! According to me, this track was needed! We needed to see THIS Bani! The WIFE Bani! About connect with her, I have decided to live in the moment!🤣 Whatever is shown, just to enjoy that and not connect with previous episodes! That kinda takes away the essence for these final episodes for me!😆 Well, am almost sure the show is indeed nearing its end! I could see the culmination of the show with some final track, wherein the leads will have to go through some test of love maybe!😆 I feel so! Also, these TRPs cannot hold on to this sinking ship much longer! There story itself is rubbish, so can't help!😆

Saturday's episode:

Firstly, I feel we have to assume bani was indeed in love with veer since a long time! Also she was in denial and she took all the time in the world to accept him!😆

Coz her current overwhelming love for Veeranshu, makes me think, she has been pinning for him since forever!😆 I wish the makers had shown some of bani's inner turmoil atleast to make us believe in her current state!😆

But nevertheless, I have stopped relating to previous episodes as I said!😆

Coming to the episode, it was wayyy irrelevant!🤪The hypnosis was more comical than scary!😆 I still cannot come to terms with Veer dancing on 'Ghunghroo toot gye' in that state!🤣🤣🤣 I guess this will forever remain ambiguous!😆

I liked seeing bani's state in the whole episode! It seemed as she had hated Veeranshu so strongly that all that pain was coming back to her! Ballu was highlight for me too! He finally came to forefront as the cheel's chief and Veer's Father! Frankly, I pretty much don't even remember the episode as I had skipped most of it!😆 The wedding vows as you mentioned were truly wrll etched out! Performance wise, I liked Surbhi and Sharad in both the episodes, but TBH, I felt veer was a bit Out of Character! He seemed zoned out to me a lot of times! Dunno why, I didn't feel like I was watching THE VEERANSHU SINGHANIA! Was it on purpose or not I don't know, but yeah! He was the old veer, but I couldn't connect why was he behaving like a douche!😆

Sunday's Episode:

Again, Bani's janm janmaamtr ka love continued! I mean, there's falling in love and then there's being consumed by it!🤔 The way she was crying her heart out for Veer, saying finally we are together, as if they were lovers since the start of the universe!😆 By gawd! Makers! There's something called as BUILT UP! Did you completely miss that part?😆 Chalo bani ko pyaar mei dikhaana tha na, thoda start waale phase mei dikhaate! This bani is like, duniya ek taraf aur usska Veeranshu ek taraf! Muzhe kuch connect nai hua, ki itnaaa ghera pyaar hua kab!?😆😆😆 That bedroom scene, was well good! I loved all the role reversal happening here! I mean the intensity is very palpable in every scene but the connect of is completely missing!

I still didn't get, why was veer unconscious for so long?! What was the point of it?🤔 Coming to the cheels, they were in action throughout! I was so glad, to see they truly care for Veeranshu! All of them! Except shukla ofc!😆 But he's a good actor! Kya fake concern tha bande ka, by god!🤣

All the brothers were perfectly well placed! Daksh and Ponky as good devars helping bani and Tapish as the elder brother of Veer being bani's ally! This track has brought work for everyone atleast! No one is furniture!😆 Good grace! Chachi was basically US!🤣 WHATT THE FWCUKK IS HAPPENING?🤣🤣Damaadji on chaand?🤪 Is he on steroids or I am?🤣 was chachi's inner voice!😆 Frankly, out of all the characters, chachi is the most real!😆🤣

Ballu and Chandrakala's equation growth was also prominent! The selfish mother and the selfless father were really well portrayed!👏

Special mention to JAY!😎 I must say! His character has a GOOD PROGRESSION! He seems to know what he's doing, and going for it! I wish the makers would have kept him like this since the start! Mohit has improved so much! Am looking forward his character arc also now!

I also wish to see Veeranshu more in action! Enough seeing him being a victim for quite a while now!

Lets see, the precap seems like a plan to me! Mostly, Chandrakala and Jay together again! Am not keeping much hopes from bani exposing jay! Till I watch it myself, am not giving into the precap!😆
