Virat rolled onto the side, his hands searched for the Sihghad fort but there was none!He just blinked his eyes only to realise that lights in the room were still on! He checked his phone, it five past midnight.
He got up and sat on the bed, his eyes searching for Sai! Sai was still studying while dozing off in between.
"Itani neend aa rahi hai to so kyun nahi jati. Baki ka kal subah uthakar padh lena"
Sai, who was already in bitter mood, retorted in her acerbic tone."Kal subah?"
Virat understood what Sai meant and gave her an empathatic look (Mai samaz sakata hun). Managing the household duties and studies had become overwhelming for Sai.
There was no point in stretching the conversation further but he just thought something to himself. He went back to restless sleep and Sai continued with her studies.
Next night, Virat waited for everyone to head to their rooms after dinner. His eyes were pinned on his Aai. As he ensured everyone has left, he went into the kitchen where Ashwini was doing a final wrap up. She was almost jaw dropped to see Virat in the kitchen. "Kuchh chahiye? Kuchh ho raha hai tumhe?" Virat noticed tension on Ashwini's face. "Kuchh nahi Aai, mai thik hun". Ashwini noticed Virat's hesitancy. " Kya chahiye bol na? Apani Aai ko nahi batayega?" Virat after an awkward pause asked her, " Aai tu muzhe coffee banana sikha degi?" Ashwini now had a mischievious smile and twinkle in her eyes. "Sai ko tumhari hath ki bani hui coffee bahot achhi lagati hai." Virat was saying this with a bit of shyness.Ashwini teasingly said, " Haan to mai abhi bana deti hun" and moved to grab the saucepan. Virat grabbed her hand to stop her. "Nahi Aai, muzhe sikhani hai" To answer Ashwini's questioning face, Virat said, " Woh Sai ko rat ko Padhai karate wakt nind aa jati, to tab coffee bana dunga to..." He wished Ashwini to understand the rest. A flashback came to Ashwini, when she was telling newlywed Sai, "Mere Virat ko khana banane ke nam par sirf pani garam karana ata hai." Her son had come a long way since that day but today was special. Her son had enered kitchen for the first time for the sake of his beloved wife. Ashwini could not contain the happiness looking at the bond Virat-Sai shared which she missed all her life. She happily taught him how to make a coffee. He made Ashwini test it. She just gastured 'mast bani hai' and his happiness did not know the limits. He readied the tray with two cups of coffee and headed to the room.
Just at the kithchen door, Virat turned back to look at Ashwini to say 'Thank you!' 'ankho hi ankho mein' and it was accepted.
In the room, Sai was wondering while studying, 'Ye Virat sir aaj kahan reh gaye?' Her eyes searching for him, repeatedly looking at the door. A relief and smile spread onto her face looking at him enter the room. Sai used to feel 'ajeeb' not finding Virat around for more than usual time. 'Pata nahi kyun?'🤔
She was surprised to see the tray and the cups in his hand "Kya hai ye?" She shrugged his shoulder, "Aur kya, coffee hai".☕☕
"Test kar ke dekh lo kaise bani hai".With surprise, doubt and happiness she asked, " Apane banai hai?" 😲 🥰" Haan, toh, kya mai bana nahi sakata hun kya?" " Nahi woh aaj tak apane kabhi..." "Haan toh aaj bana di. Aaine sikhai".😊 Sai's bitterness from day's struggle vanished in a moment.🙂 A wide smile spread on their faces as they both sipped the coffee.😊😊😊 The smile of understanding,friendship, companionship, love, togetherness as they navigated their tough journey of life. He saw the same expression on her face, when he had surprised her by bringing her the candy floss🍡🍡🍡, and they were lost, eye locked, into their own world, the world of Sairat.💕💕👫💕💕!
