Chapter 24
Life is weird. It makes you think in one direction but presents you with something entirely unexpected and something you were never prepared for.
“Ragini, Ragini wait”
Vansh called her out but she left not heeding to any of his calls. This has been the case since that night Vansh had a conversation with her. She either had been avoiding him or been distant with him whenever she was with him. And with each passing day with this increasing dubious behaviour of hers, his doubts on her are increasing.
“Damn you Ragini. What are you up to? I knew it was risky to trust you again yet I took my chances. Do not make me do what I don’t want to.”
Vansh hissed in frustration.
Ishani who was standing behind him leaning on and taking the support of the wall witnessed everything was looking at him with an amused expression on her face, comes towards him.
“Really bhai sometimes I wonder who you are lying to. You don’t love Ragini bhai. You never had loved her.”
Ishani said with an expression between a half-smile and a smirk.
“What do you mean?”
Vansh asked his face getting hardened.
“I know you better. All I am saying is this is not you not even when you are in love especially when you are in love.”
Saying so Ishani left from there with a smirk.
With a raised eyebrows he looked on the retreating figure of his sister with a single thought “Since when this sister of mine became all cryptic with her words?”

“What do I do? How do I find out if Kabir was telling the truth about Kalash uncle or not? Agree uncle is a bit intimidating but a murderer?”
Ragini murmured to herself while walking in the corridor only to be heard by Sejal.
“Now what had he done? Can’t this loser behave for once like a dignified police officer or a villain instead of some conspiring and evil saas (mother-in-law) and nanad (sister-in-law/sister of husband)of an Indian daily soap?”
Annoyed Sejal fish out her cell phone and dialled to Kabir and as soon as he picked his phone up said:
“Hey loser what new mess had you created?”
Sejal asked making Kabir lose a fuse at being called as a loser by her.
“What is it now Sejal?”
Kabir asked through his teeth.
“You told Ragini that Kailash uncle was the one who went Gabbar on her and shot her 3 years ago?”
Sejal asks him informing and making him close his eyes at the new situation that may arise due to Sejal coming to know of it yet hoping for the best and trying to stay positive he said
“Yes, you heard it right. It was Kailash Rai Singhania who shot Ragini 3 years ago.”
saying so Kabir cuts the call leaving Sejal furious.

Riddhima was in her room reading a book on physiotherapy. When her phone rang without looking at it she took the call.
“Hey what are you doing?”
Ridhay asked greeting her
“Hey, nothing much was just reading some book.”
Riddhima replied with a smile
“How are you? Sejal told me what happened first that file fiasco and then this Ragini’s incident.”
Saying so Ridhay asks frustration could be clearly heard in his voice
“That tattle mouth can’t she keep a few things to herself. Does she run a broadcasting radio VR Mansion news or what?”
Riddhima said huffing annoyed at her best friend.
“No, sadly had she been it would have topped the charts with all that drama that keeps happening on regular basis in that madhouse called VR Mansion.”
Ridhay replied back with a sarcastic tight smile though can’t be seen but very much felt by Riddhima and with equal annoyance in his voice as was in hers sadly it was directed at herself. Ahh she hated sassy and sarcastic Ridhay thought Riddhima with a frown
“At times it really takes a humongous amount of effort to stop me from coming there and give all those people a little piece of my mind and some paybacks. You okay right?”
Ridhay asks taking a deep sigh trying to calm himself.
“See that’s why I don’t tell you things. You worry too much.”
Riddhima said trying to make him calm
“Listen no matter what I am always going to worry about but I am glad Sejal doesn’t hide stuff from me, unlike certain someone. Oh, wait that certain someone is you.”
Ridhay told her little peeved at the last part
“Geez, why are you being so prickly?”
Riddhima said making face and mildly surprised.
“I am not being prickly okay. I am just annoyed at you. You don’t need to handle everything alone. You don’t need to bear everything alone. You are not alone do you understand? We are there for you always. So stop taking everything alone and talk to me. Stop hiding things from me.”
Ridhay said with a frown on his face and takes a sigh
“Relax it’s nothing no big deal.”
“Relax? No big deal? Are you kidding me? Riddhima that Ragini incident is a big deal. She could have died and the entire blame would have come on you. Do you realize what it means? You would have been blamed not just for her death rather you would have been termed as a murderer. What kind of people are they? My mistake I forgot what do I even expect from these people? It’s not the first time they blamed you unreasonably or tried to harm you heck tried to kill you. Missy for you even that wouldn’t have been a big deal right? Bloody murderers you are residing with.”
Ridhay said getting hyper and almost shouting bringing a few moments pause on both sides then a little sorry was heard from Riddhima.
“Okay, what colour do you want your room to be? Any colour themes or some theme, some design?”
Asked Ridhay in a lighter tone now smiling a bit trying to change the topic and lighten the moment
“Huh”
Riddhima said with no idea what he was talking about.
“I am getting your room prepared when you come here. So anything you would want? Any specifics that are needed to be taken care of?”
Ridhay informed her clearing her confusion and asked about her choice and preferences.
“Why are you there bothering with this? Arent there any interior designer? I am sure you must have hired one so what are you doing at home? And when did you return from the U.S? You didn’t even tell me?”
Riddhima asked confused than curious than angry and threatening. The range of expressions in between was quite comical, to be honest for any audience watching her at the moment.
On the other hand, the mighty Ridhay Singh Randhawa held the expression like a deer caught in headlight good no one was there to see him otherwise it might have come as a shock to see him scared and even bigger if the source of it would have been known or seen a little creature on the other side of the call. It’s not every day one gets to see the devil scared and that to from a little cute girl.
“I… I am not back. I am talking through a video call with the designers. Okay bye let me know if you want anything for your room”
Saying Ridhay hurriedly cuts the phone leaving Riddhima confused.

She was unsure, there was risk yet picking up she dialled a number. It didn't take long for the person on the other side to pick her to call up.
“Yes so do you?”
said the person leaving the question unfinished though she did not need him to finish it. She knew what he wanted to ask. Then heaving a sigh she said with a strong voice
“Yes Kabir, I am ready to share information with you.”

Huffing and puffing she was walking in her room.
“What does he think of himself? I need to know what he is up to. No calm down Sejal you cannot talk to him like this. Uggghhhh how do I calm down? I need a let out here is no punching bag also.”
Sejal kept talking to herself furious at the certain inspector. Then turning around seeing a vase she left her room.
Lying on his bed with one leg dangling from it Aryan was seeing a match on TV when he saw Sejal storming through his room’s door surprising him.
“Hey, how come you are here? I mean you end up picking a vase at the mere sight of me.”
Aryan asked with a smile only to get a punch on his face from Sejal.
After fifteen minutes both of them sat beside each other on the floor folding their legs and hands.
“So what did I do to be beaten up? I did not come near you or tried to mess with you either.”
Aryan asked with a looking forward with a straight face man this girl can punch thought Aryan wincing.
“Nothing I was just annoyed at someone.”
Answered Sejal all chilled out and in a relaxed voice.
“Needed a let out and there was no punching bag and then I got reminded of you. So you aren’t entirely useless.”
Sejal said patting Aryan’s back in encouragement with a lopsided-smile then standing up she took her cell phone out dialling a number she said
“Hey, you loser don’t you dare cut your phone on me.”
and talking the person on other side left from there without giving a second glance to him while Aryan kept looking at her retreating figure.
Walking out of Aryan’s room and his ears reach still on her phone Sejal asked
“Do you have any proves? Something solid and reliable your regular half-baked ones won’t count”
Heaving a deep sigh Kabir answered with a tight
“Yes”

She ran and ran. She ran for her life. She was being followed. She couldn’t stop now. It could be of dire consequences. That scary man was following her. Then few more men came and they blocked her from the front. She was trapped. They took hold of her. No no no no she is going to die. They will kill her. They will kill her just like they killed those people. It was all dark. She couldn’t see any of their faces.

A sound came and a locket fell.
She saw a man coming forward he was in all black. The man was wearing a black t-shirt, over it a black leather jacket, black leather pants, and black leather boots. He bent down to pick up the locket and looked up at her with an evil smirk and a sheer terror ran down her spine making chills run through her bones.
She woke up with a jerk and sat down panting, sweating and shivering profusely. Turning towards the side table removing the roaster she tries to take the glass of water with her shivering hands making few droplets of water fall from it.
“Riddhima”
called Vansh switching on the night side lamp. Seeing her all rattled up he gets worried it did not go well with him. Even when he wanted to hurt her to make Kabir suffer he could never bring himself up to leave her on her own seeing her all scared or in any kind of danger.
For a man who wanted to break her weirdly enough, he could never tolerate tears in her eyes. If that’s not had been the case he wouldn’t have run to her every time every single time when either she was in trouble or was upset and crying. If that wouldn’t have been the case why seeing tears breaks his heart isn’t that what he wanted to begin with. Yet he could never bring himself hurting her to that extent. Some people bring the best in you while some bring out the worst in you but Riddhima was an entirely different case altogether.
She brings out everything in him the best, the worst and in between. If not how is so that even with all his games he had opened up to her in ways like never before and hadn’t been able to lie to her even when he wanted. Games he played but was all of it were games? He would never know and that thought scares him every single time. However no one absolutely no one was allowed to cause her distress. All her emotions were for him alone whatever it maybe.
Looking at her he called her again and asked
“Riddhima are you okay? What is it you have been having these nightmares for a while now? Initially, I thought they are just random nightmares but now I am worried. Tell me what it is.”
Drinking water and taking some deep breaths Riddhima calmed herself down.
“It’s nothing. You need not worry about me.”
Riddhima said dismissing him.
She couldn't have answered him even if she wanted to. How could she when even she herself doesn’t know about it or the cause of it? Least of all she wouldn’t share any of her worries, fears, dreams, nightmares whatever with him not now not ever.
Riddhima thought putting the glass of water back on the side table.
“How am I supposed to not worry about you? What is happening with you Riddhima?”
“Why do you care? Stop pretending as if you care and you are worried for me.”
saying so she switched off the table lamp on her side of the bed and lied down turning towards the other side with her back facing Vansh. Sleep wasn’t going to come tonight to her. Slowly she curled up in a fetal position.
Vansh looked at her she was scared no doubt but won’t share her fears and worries with him. He did not like it. Unlike before when she used to seek him whenever she was in trouble or used to sleep holding his hand whenever she used to get scared. However, today he knew she won’t share anything with him or seek him even though she was shaking with fear right now.
Switching off lights of his side table he lied down on his side of the bed, then turning towards her, he put his right hand on her waist pulling her towards himself, he back hugged her. Pressing her back to his torso he tightened his hold on her than putting his other hand under her he wrapped it around her putting it on her arms making her pinned to him. Then putting his head on her side of the face without saying a word he started rubbing her arms slowly till she stopped shivering. Giving a peck on the side of her head both of them laid there in silence.
She did not know why but at times these dreams frighten her to the point of giving her sleepless nights out of some unknown fear ignited in her deep down. It leaves her pained as if she lost something very dear in those dreams of hers. Then there is this man who is holding her the one who had hurt her the most. He could do this solely because he is the one her heart fell in love with like never before. Had it been a few months back she would have hugged and snuggled in him for the rest of the night. He would have been her solace. Now however she doesn’t know what to do. Maybe for tonight, she could let him comfort her.
Maybe for tonight, she could seek protection and solace in his strong arms that are folded around her comforting her, calming her. With these thoughts on just like that she went into a deep slumber and somewhere in the night in her sleep, she turned towards him and putting her arms around slept hugging him.
The next morning sun saw and welcomed the couple sleeping hugging each other with his morning rays peeping from the window curtains.

In VR Mansion Hall a few hours later
Everyone was gathered in the hall of VR Mansion wondering why they all have been summoned here. While everyone was wondering about the same Chanchal looked at Aryan who was wearing black sunglasses and asked him getting everyone's attention at them
“Oye Aryan, why are you wearing sunglasses at home?”
“Yes Aryan, why are you wearing them at home? Remove them.”
Said dadi smiling at her most mischievous grandchild.
“Eeee aaa it is okay Dadi. The light is too bright here.”
Aryan replied back
“Aree what bright light? Remove it.”
Chanchal said moving towards him and trying to remove though getting resistance from Aryan but finally succeeding gaps looking at him
“Hayee what happened to your eyes?”
Chanchal asked him dramatically while the rest of the family were surprised or few eyebrows were raised, some chuckles were heard while snickers were heard from Ishani and Sia.
“I did it.”
Sejal declared before Aryan can say anything.
“He threatened me and took me to his room trying to harm me. Hence I did it.”
Sejal said with a straight bored face while Aryan stared at her shocked at her blatant lie with his mouth slightly open.
“Aryan when you have been asked to stay away from her why do you keep going to her. Leave that girl alone.”
Dadi said reprimanding him though Aryan tried to protest no one was ready to listen to him let alone believe him. Then turning towards Sejal, Dadi said
“Beta you did the right thing. If he ever tries to trouble you beat him up and no one will question you.”
Bringing a huge smile on Sejal’s face showing her teeth Sejal thanked her for saying,
“Thank you so much, Dadi. I was scared you might get angry that I beat up your grandson.”
Sejal said Chandrika Rai Singhania smiled looking at the girl in front of her. She can see this girl is a child from the heart and a very mischievous one at that. Even with all the mischief and pranks, she had a pure heart.
“Don’t be beta I am not angry though I must say you are one strong girl to give him a black eye.”
Dadi said patting Sejal’s cheek in affection while Aryan looked on helplessly while on the other hand Ishani was highly entertained at the expense of her cousin.
Just then Kailash arrived there folding his sleeves up and asked
“So what have we gathered here for? Who has called this meeting and for what?”
Kailash asked looking around everyone.
“I did but before saying anything further. I would like for everyone to hear something.”
Riddhima said answering Kailash and then looking at everyone she played a voice recording in front of everyone leaving everyone shell shocked after it was finished. Then turning towards Kailash she said
“Why, Chachu? Why did you do this?”
