For sure! This is the first time I've watched Sharad in anything (and tbh, from the clips I've seen of his previous shows, I don't think I would enjoy those characters, or would have been hooked the way I have been with Veer), and he's really a very nuanced and natural actor. Other actors could have done a competent job too, but a great actor elevates even the worst script. The cliché of the "bad boy" is so overdone that these days you see such characters on every show, and then almost always as carbon copies of each other: heavily bearded, leather-wearing, irreverent etc. It takes something special to elevate a character from that basic trope. Sharad has done that. The andaaz, the temperament, the little quirks he's brought to the character since day one are a big part of the reason Veeranshu is so loved. There have been times when I've watched alpha male leads on ITV shows and been like, "tell me again why I'm supposed to root for this guy to get the girl?"...but even when Veeranshu was portrayed as an out and out villain, I never felt that way (I'm discounting the Noor kaand here because yes, that annoyed me, but it was ep 1 and they were very clearly drawing some very broad strokes about who is the Villain™ and who is the Hero™. Thankfully they moved away from that very quickly). Absolutely all credit to Sharad for taking the words on the page and forming them into the character we see on screen. I'll always be glad I watched this show for that reason, because I finally saw a male lead who wasn't a frustrating cliché.
