SaiRat OS: Tumhe Mujhse Pyaar Hai

Posted: 3 years ago

Hello everyone, šŸ˜Š

Okay, so its been quote after a long time that I am writing a song fic, that is basically I heard this song and I just couldn't help but picture SaiRat with it... I got inspired to write this story by that song.

I really enjoyed writing it and I hope you all will also enjoy reading it šŸ¤—

So here it is

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Virat watched as Sai cut the bandage on his arm and started to clean the still fresh wound of yesterday night. He flinched as soon as she touched the wound with the antiseptic liquid soaked cotton to clean it. Sai immediately looked up at his face worriedly, but couldn't find any trace of pain, which was kind of expected from a trained ACP. So she asked verbally with concern.

'Sorry.. Dard ho raha hai?', and Virat just shook his head in a no. ā€˜Haan haan, mard ko dard nahi hota right!ā€™, she rolled her eyes and blew over the wound to sooth his pain. A small smile came on his face at that, watching how caring she was towards him.

He remembered how she had screamed "VIRAT SIR" in fear last night when she saw him standing in the door of Chavan Mansion with a cotton bandaged arm and a bloodied shirt sleeve. She was really scared and kept asking if he was alright and wanted to make sure that he was not much hurt. Even after him replying that he was fine and a bullet had just grazed his arm, she was not satisfied. She also asked inspector Patil who had accompanied him home, if he was okay and what did the doctor instruct. She only became relaxed when Patil told her that there was no need to worry, the bullet just grazed his arm and that the doctor had advised two days of rest after the whole physical activity.

'Pata nahi ghar se nikalte hi kyu hai jab duty thik se karna nahi ata!', she murmured while she dabbed the ointment on the wound, and it made him come back to the present.

'Excuse me!! Kya kaha tumne?' Virat asked her, raising an eyebrow.

'Aur nahi toh kya!... ek police officer ka farz dusron ko bachane ke sath sath khud ka khayal rakhna bhi hota haiā€¦  pata nahi kaha dhyan tha aapka jab wo gunda goli chala raha tha.. Ab lag gayi na chot', Sai scolded him just the way she used to scold her Aaba. He smiled lightly at that.

'Aisi choti moti chote duty ke waqt lagti rehti hai', Virat said calmly.

'Ha ha janti hu.. Aaba se bhi bohot baar suni hai yeh baateā€¦  par fir bhi agar aapko kuch ho jata toh!', she asked with worry clearly lined on her forehead. It made Virat feel a warmth inside his heart. It really felt good to be cared by her. She then looked at him warningly.

'Agli baar please mission ke time thoda jyada khayal rakhiyegaā€¦ agar aapko kuch ho gaya, toh fir kanoon ko hath me lene walon ke hath kaun katega?', Sai said, and looked down while she started wraping the cotton bandage around his wound. Virat chuckled at that which made her smile too. He felt like he could do just about anything to see that smile on her face.

'Kuch nahi hoga mujhe, tum ho na mera ilaaj karne ke liye!', he said with a smirk and she looked at him.

'Main abhi tak doctor bani nahi hu', she replied with a stern look.

'Haan toh ban jaogi..  Bas 3.5 saal aurā€¦ Don't worry tab tak main khayal rakhunga ki mujhe jyada badi chote na lage', Virat said in a teasing manner.

'Tab tak? Kya matlab tab tak??', she asked, glaring angrily. She pointed a finger at him in warning. 'Aap khayal rakhenge ki aapko kabhi koi chot na lage.. Samjhe?!', she warned him and concentrated on wrapping the bandage again. Virat just smiled at the way she was so concerned and caring towards him.

Chahe zubaan se kuch na kaho, ae mere sanam

Chahe zubaan se kuch na kaho, ae mere sanamā€¦

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar haiā€¦

Yes, it was true. He had fallen in love with her. He didn't know how or when exactly, maybe it was a gradual thing, and somewhere he feels that she also feels the same for him. Or it might be his wishful thinking, but he would like to keep holding the string of hope, and he likes to gaze into her eyes to get some glimpse, some indication of her feelings. Though she normally doesn't let her emotions show, and hides it perfectly, sometimes he could see the love and care for small moments in there.

It had been over 6 months to Sai and his marriage, and he didn't realise when she started to become not just a part of his life, but a part of his heart. She got admission in the best medical college of Nagpur and is studying very hard to achieve her dream. She also had made a place in his family. His Aayi started loving her like her own daughter, Shivani bua got a confidante in her, Karishma also likes her as a friend, for Mohit she is his favorite bhabhi, Devi tai loves her like a sister who plays with her and supports her in every situation, and he can see that even Bhavani kaku also likes to have small arguments with her due to her unique and witty way of handling her. But for him, she had made her way into his heart slowly and treacherously with her pure heart and caring nature. The small things that she started doing for him like keeping his uniform ready every morning, making him healthy breakfast on time so that he gets time to eat, making sure that he eats his dinner no matter what, sometimes even forcefully, giving him head massage when he returns home tired from the duty, doing her late night study in the balcony or sometimes on the terrace so his sleep doesn't get disturbed, drinking tea with him when he gets free time and sharing details of her week and sometimes her childhood stories, listening to his stories with utmost interest while he gives her head massage to stop her migraine pain, and even the little banters with her made him realise that happiness can be found in these small momentsā€¦ hereā€¦ with her. These small things done by her made him feel like he belonged here with her, to her, and this sense of belonging had made his life joyful and special.

He never felt this way while he was with Pakhi, and never felt even a slightest bit of this sense of belonging while he made that promise to her. Maybe that was just an infatuation and he realised that, when he understood what love truly is, only after being around Sai. She was a girl, no scratch that, a woman who does everything selflessly and thinks about others before herself. But she was also the woman who loves herself as much as she loves others with all her heart and does not tolerate any wrong towards herself or the ones she loves. And as Kamal sir said "uski zabaan tikhi hai, par wo dil bilkul saaf hai", she was exactly the same. Her talks were spicy, because mostly they were true, and sometimes because of her short temper, but her heart was pure and if he had to add to it "Saaf ke sath sath meetha bhi bohot hai uska dil". She was loving, caring, innocent, pure hearted and he had fallen hard for her, or rather risen in her love.

Now that he thought about it, he had always admired her for her courage, bolness, and straightforward nature even before their marriage. He knew that the only fear she had in life was to lose her loved ones. He liked her in Gadchiroli itself when she joked with him the day he had taken food for her in the safe house, when she called him Gabbar and Basanti, when she was ready to risk her life to save a little girl. He had always cared for her, it's just that he realised it now that it was not because of any duty, but because he felt like it. Now that he realised this, he knew had liked her, even back then, enough to voice out to her that he was doing things for her that doesn't come under his duty, and even asked her if she will forget this Gabbar after shifting to Nagpur. He smiled mentally at the memory.

'Lijiye ho gaya aapka dressing change', Sai declared but he didn't seem to have listened as he was lost in her thoughts, with a small smile on his face staring at her. So she snapped her fingers before his eyes to break him out of his reverie. He raised his eyebrows in question.

'Kaha khoye hai aap? Kya soch rahe hai?', she asked.

'Kuch nahiā€¦. Uhh thank you', he replied with a smile and she smiled back.

'Ab aap aaram kijiye, main ja rahi hu, kitchen me Aayi intezaar kar rahi hogi', she said while she kept the first aid box in the drawer and started to leave the room. But she stopped at the door and turned to look at him.

'Aur haan woā€¦ Aajā€¦ Aaj mera Vat Savitri ka vrat hai', she told him and his eyes snapped towards her in a pleasant surprise. She had kept a fast for him! For his long life! Does that mean she loves him too??. 'Aur sham ko uski pooja hai toh socha aapko bata du', she informed him with a small smile, in which he sensed a bit of shyness too. But all he could do was just nod, as he was completely awestruck by knowing this fact that she had kept a fast for him.

Chahe zubaan se kuch na kaho, ae mere sanamā€¦

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai

Once his heart and brain absorbed this fact, he grinned as he remembered the blush on her face moments ago. He loved it when she blushed. Though she mostly didnā€™t blush and was quite direct in all her expressions and conversations, but when she did, she looked beautiful. He remembered the incident a few days back, and his grin grew wider if that was possible.

****Flashback*****

Sai had forgotten her file on the study table, so she hurriedly came back to take it from the room. But she didnā€™t know that he was having a shower in the bathroom. She came inside their room, took the file from the table, and turned to go but found herself face to face with a shirtless Virat. The file fell down from her hands in shock, and she stood there like a statue. Virat was shirtless with just a towel wrapped around his lower body, his hair wet and the water droplets trailing down his bare chest. Saiā€™s breath hitched in her throat and her heart skipped several beats. She had always known that her husband was handsome, and she admired it about him, but today he looked devilishly handsome like this. Virat walked towards her and her heart started racing like mad. He picked up the fallen file and handed it to her, while she just stared at him with wide eyes.

ā€˜Sai..tum thik toh ho? Kya hua?ā€™, he asked as he saw the sweat on her forehead, and that made her realise that she was staring. She immediately lowered her eyes, and Virat smirked noticing the effect he was having on her.

ā€˜Uhh.. kuchā€¦.kuch nahi.. Woh.. main.. Bas yeh file bhul gayi thiā€™, she stuttered in nervousness and he found it really cute.

ā€˜Are you sure aur koi problem nahi hai? Kyunki tumhe kafi pasina aa raha haiā€™, he told her, really enjoying himself. She quickly wiped her forehead.

ā€˜Nahi.. koi problem nahi haiā€¦ main chalti hu... I mean, aati huā€™, she replied quickly and left from there, leaving a smiling Virat behind.

******Flashback Ends****

Mathe pe kyun pasina hai, yeh toh bataiye

Aise na mujhko dekh ke, palke jhukaiye,,,

Hum jante hai aapka dil, bekaraar hai....

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai

He chuckled at the memory and became happy knowing that he had some effect on her, and maybe, just maybe he was right in hoping that she also loves him and is eager for his closeness.

******

On the other hand Sai was working in the kitchen preparing breakfast for all men of the house, as all the ladies had kept Vat Savitri vrat. She smiled thinking of how shy she was while informing this to her husband. But what could she do, these kinds of things, especially in relation to him, made her blush automatically, and in fact made her nervous. She remembered his shirtless encounter with her a few days back, and how speechless she was at that moment. She cursed her husband remembering that moment. Gabbar kahi ke! Aisa sawal koi puchta hai kya aisi situation me?.... ā€œSai tum thik toh ho na? Tumhe kafi pasina aa raha haiā€, huh! Jaise ki unhe pata hi na ho ki hua kya hai...Ab aise samne aa jayenge toh shock toh lagega na! Murkh kuthleā€¦She blushed and started making the kande pohe for breakfast.

Yes, it was trueā€¦ She had developed feelings for him in her heart. She was not sure what it truly was as all those feelings were quite new for her, and she was experiencing them for the first time in her life. All she knew was that he made her happy and she experiences happiness with him. All she knew was that she likes to be around him and feels nice and a warmth when he does small things for her. She likes it when he cares for her, when he drops her off to college and comes to pick her up, or sends Sunny or Mohit or inspector Patil to pick her up if he is busy and couldn't make it. She likes when he gives her a hot oil head massage for her migraine pain and tells his academy days stories, when she finds herself in the bed every morning even when she remembered sleeping on the couch in the balcony, when he smiles at her for her witty way of handling Kaku's tantrums, when he spends time with her sipping tea and talking about random things, when he sometimes brings her favorite chocolate ice cream just to make her happy. She gets concerned for him every time he goes on a dangerous mission, and worried if anything happens to him just the way she used to for her Aaba. If all these feelings and emotions means love, then yes, she was in love with him and she was very happy accepting that to herself. She knew she could not confess it to him, because she knew about the promise he made to Pakhi, and she had also promised him that she won't expect anything from him in this relationship. But she could not help cherish all her moments with him and capture them in her memories while she was here.

The ladies went to do the pooja of the Vat vriksha for the fast, and while Sai was taking the rounds around the tree tying the sacred thread on it, all she wished for was that Virat be always happy and safe. For a moment she wished he was here and watched her doing all these rituals for his safety, and how happy she felt to do this for him. Then maybe he would know what she feels for him. But then she chuckled mentally at herself for this stupid thought of hers, when she knew she can't let him know of her feelings. She had promised him that she will let him free from this marriage after she becomes a doctor, and she didn't want to burden him by showing him her feelings, because she fully intended to fulfil her promise for his happiness. Little did she know that her husband had already broken and forgotten his promise when he realized he was in love with her. She also didnā€™t know that he was watching her right now, hidden behind the Mandir wall with Sunny. He was mesmerized to see how beautiful she looked all dressed up and with that amazing smile on her face. And he was more happy to see her doing this for him.

All the ladies returned home, and they got to know that Virat had gone out with Sunny. Sai got angry to know it as he was supposed to rest according to the doctor, but she controlled her anger as it was an important day for her. She just called Sunny and told him to take care of Virat, and remind him to come home on time.

It was evening and all the ladies of the house were ready for the pooja. Sai was waiting for Virat, as it was almost time for the pooja and all the other men were already there. Virat came down wearing the sherwani that Sai had laid on their bed for him. Sai smiled seeing him in her favorite blue colour. But Virat stopped in his tracks and was just stunned as he looked at Sai. She looked absolutely angelic in her blue and red paithani saree, with her hairs flowing down her back and a gajra adorning them, and there was a twinkle in her beautiful black kohl lined eyes as she saw him. He took a deep breath to compose himself and walked towards her. He stood before her and silently indicated through his fingers that she looks lovely. She blushed and lowered her eyes in response making his heart flutter again.

Tum samne jo aaye toh, sharma gayi najar

Main kuch bhi keh saki na, aisa hua asar..

Har pal mujhe toh ab tumhara intezaar hai..

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai..

Ashwini called everyone for the pooja and Sai went ahead to stand beside her Aayi. All through the prayer, Virat couldn't keep his eyes off of her. After the pooja, the ladies came with their pooja thalis and stood before their husbands. Just like everyone, Sai did Virat's aarti. She bent down to touch his feet but he held her shoulders midway stopping her from doing so. She looked at him surprised and he just shook his head telling her there's no need for it.

'Tum aaj bohot sundar lag rahi ho', Virat said and she blushed again.

'Aap bhi bohot acche lag rahe haiā€¦Blue aap suit karta hai', she replied while he kept the fruit from the thali in her saree pallu. So the rituals were over and now it was time when the wives end their fast from their husbands hand. So Sai brought up the thal in front of her and he picked up the water glass from it.

'Sai.. Tumne ye vrat kyu kiya?', he asked her and she looked at him confused.

'Kya matlab?', she asked back.

'Matlab ye vrat patniya apne pati ki lambi umra aur salamati ke liye rakhti hai.. Kyunki wo unse pyaar karti hai...par tum toh mujhseā€¦... toh tumne kyu?', he asked and she understood the meaning of his unfinished sentence.

'Kyunki Aayi aur kaku ne mujhse kaha', she replied and indicated towards the glass in his hand.

'Haan lekin tumhe yeh karne ki jarurat nahi thi', he said while he made her drink the water from the glass. 'Tum unhe bina bataye khana kha bhi sakti thi.. Bhuki kyu rahi?', he asked and kept the glass in the thali.

'Nahi Virat sir, main Aayi se jhuth nahi bol sakti thiā€¦in sab ko dhoka nahi de saktiā€¦ vaise bhi yeh sab dil se chahte the ki main aapke liye yeh vrat rakhu', Sai replied while he picked up the sweet from the plate.

'Aur tum?', he asked and fed her the sweet. She gulped down the bite and looked at his eyes.

'Main bhi', she replied and a strong wave of hope washed over him.

'Kyun?', he asked, looking deeply in her eyes. Her heart was beating wildly looking at the intensity in his eyes. By now everyone else had completed the tradition and left towards the dining table for dinner. Only these two kept standing there looking in each other's eyes, Virat waiting for her answer.

'Kyunki main khud ko bhi dhoka nahi de sakti', she replied with courage, and Virat was stunned with her answer. Did he understand it right? Was she really saying that she loves him?? He couldn't believe it. But Sai took his stunned expression to be of shock and realised that she shouldn't have said that. She should not break her promise.

'Tumhara matlabā€¦ tumā€¦  mujhse..?'

'Har baat bol dena mumkin nahi hota Virat sir', she replied sadly. 'Kuch vaade jyada important hote hai', she turned around to leave but stopped as she felt his hand wrap around her wrist.

Chahe zubaan se kuch na kaho, ae mere sanamā€¦

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai

'Sai', Virat called her softly and she slowly turned around to look at him. 'Tumhara toh vrat pura ho gayaā€¦ ab mera bhi kar do', he said with a small smile.

'Kya matlab?', she asked him confused.

'Maine bhi..din bhar kuch nahi khaya hai', he replied simply.

'Kya??', she asked shocked. 'Lekin kyu? Aapne aisa kyu kiya? Aapko apna khayal..'

'Kaise kha leta?', he said cutting her off mid sentence. 'Tum din bhar bhuki jo thi', he replied and she froze. Virat got the thali from her hand and kept it aside on the chair beside.

'Aapā€¦ aapne.. mere liyeā€¦', she stuttered as she was overwhelmed with the bottled up emotions. 'Iska matlab.. Aap.. Mujhse..' her eyes welled up as she realised that his love for her. A lone tear escaped her eye. Virat quickly wiped that tear and cupped her face in his hands.

'Kuch vaade zindagi se jyada important nahi hote', he said, looking at her meaningfully with a smile and she smiled through her tears.

Aankhen toh keh rahi hai, tumhe mujhse pyaar hai..

She quickly hugged him and he hugged her back. He just held her tightly in his embrace as if she will disappear if he loosened his grip. Ashwini who had come to call them for dinner smiled widely watching them like this. She became very happy to finally see her son and her daughter in law in love. She decided to give them their own time and left from there.

Sai finally broke the hug a couple of minutes later, but Virat still kept holding her. Sai picked up the glass of water from the thali and made him drink it.

'Toh isiliye aap subah Sunny ke sath chale gaye the.. Kyunki aapko pata tha ki agar aap ghar pe rahe to koi na koi aapko khana khila dega, hai na? !', she asked looking at him in her usual stern avatar. She then fed him the sweet and he ate it happily.

'Kya karta.. Apni baiko ka sath jo dena tha!', he replied with a smile. She smiled back in happiness.

'Ab chale? Varna kaku der se aane ke jurm me puri raat bhuka rehne ki saza suna dengi', she joked and he chuckled at that.

'Chalo', he held her by her shoulders and together they walked towards the dining table.

The End!... Naaah..... The Beginning!

Okay, firstly I apologize because I didn't think it will be so long when I started writing it... But then I just couldn't stop once I began and this is the result. šŸ˜³

Secondly, I wanted to clear that the Vat Savitri festival normally comes in the month of June according to marathi culture. and as I just assume that SaiRat got married in December this year, so it will be fine to include the festival in this story. The show had shown it in the wrong time frame according to me... so just bear with me šŸ˜³

And lastly... How was it?šŸ¤” Good? Bad?

Please tell me your viewsšŸ˜ƒ

Thank you for reading

Love šŸ¤—,

Niki

This is a mesmerizing read!

The emotions, insecurities and love of SaiRat was beautifully captured. I always imagined Sai going crazy the minute Viraat went for a big mission.

Thanks for the beautiful story.

Ahh....that was such a good write up. Bottled up emotions coming out so effortlessly.

I have few lines for Sairat with a song

Hey kya sochta hoon main kya chaahta

Hoon hai mushkil tujhe vo bataana

O maine suna hai ki mushkil bada hai

Dabi chaahaton ko chhupaana

Raaz tere sabhi kholdegi abhi

In labhon pe jo muskaan hai

Ajnabi mujhko itna bata

Dil mera kyon pareshaan hai
