Hey guys, a first from my side, on them.
Hope it's a good read!
MAAAFI
Sai entered the house, with the same amount of fluster on her face, as she had left with. But only she knew that the reasons were wildly different!
In the morning, she was hot headed cause one, Virat Sir had said his visit to Gadchirolli was a mistake. Their marriage was a mistake - a regret that could scar him for all his life. The least thing that she wanted to hear was her - being a mistake in someone's life. And two, he had been wrongly accused. And that angered her the most. But no one noticed her hurt and worry, just because she's this angry young woman breathing fire around.
And now, as she returned to The Chavan Mansion, she was absolutely disgusted by the system. She had made it clear to the officers that the wedding was a mutual decision that they had taken in certain circumstances. And above all, Vitthal yet again got away with his shit. Sai also made sure Virat Sir's boss got an earful to believe the statement of a criminally charged politician.
Luckily, neither Kaku nor any of her soldiers, especially Patralekha, was there on the battlefield.
She quickly tip toed away to her room.
Just as she was about to step in, a stick blocked her way. She turned around to see who it was.
Her expression changed instantly, it was Virat.
"Yeh kya hai ab!" she growled.
"Bhool gayi? Kal raat kya kaha tha? Abhi tum iss room mein nahi aa sakti."
"Kya!?" she rolled her eyes. This man - for real!
"Pehle batao tum kaha gayi thi?"
"Sablog kyuuuun mere peeche pade hain!? Ek toh iss sheher mein nayi hoon, uparse itna bhi bharosa nahi"
"Baat bharose ki nahi, safety ki hai Sai. Mujhe tumhein samjhaane ki zaroorat nahi hai ki tumpar kis type ka danger hai."
"Thank god, atleast itni toh samjh hai mujhmein!"
It was Virat's turn to roll eyes.
She tried to push through the stick but couldn't.
Virat nodded his head.
Not until you speak it out. I'm equally stubborn.
Ugh. Whatever!
"Nahi aaj toh aap guess kar hi lijiye main kaha gayi thi."
"Arey tum badi ho, kahin bhi jaa sakti ho. Shayad tumhaara koi dost ho Gadchiroli se yahan, jise tum milne jao?" he said. A moment later, he didn't like this idea himself.
"Mera? Dost? Jaise Pakhi didi aapki dost hai?"
Awkward silence.
"Don't worry aisa kuch nahi hai." she giggled and said, as she saw his face turning tough.
"Tum..."
His cellphone rang.
His senior aka DIG Sir had called him to inform that after Sai's statement, the case against him was withdrawn and he could join duty. He also severely apologized for the inconvenience.
Virat's eyes turned moist. Unknowingly, she had solved a huge chunk of his problem. Something that was burdening him and pushing him down to no end.
"Batakar nahi ja sakti thi, mujhe bhi?" his tone immediately softened.
"Aap bata nahi sakte the mujhe, shaanti se, ki kya hua hai?" She replied, with equal amount of hurt. Not only had he disappointed her by the blame, but also by the fact that she was a third person to the important conversation of Virat and Pakhi.
He looked at her and lowered his gaze. He recalled his terrible words. He shouldn't have said that.
He nodded, with his head still down. He accepted his mistake.
"Vitthal ne aaj jo badtameezi ki tumhaare saath, main chodunga nahi usko."
He tightened his fist at the mere mention of that name, that was wrecking havoc in his life since a lot of days.
"Arey arey, shaant Virat sir, shaant." she laughed, as they got in the room, together.
"Par aap yeh mat samajhana ki Maine aapko maaf kar diya hai."
"Matlab?" he asked.
But it was too late. Sai had already left with her suitcase and was on the way to Usha Maushi's room.
....
Cheers,
Mahi.
