Here we are again.😊 This time to discuss about unmarried women in Pakistani dramas.

Unmarried women are always portrayed as burden on their families. A father has to get his daughter married to fulfill his duties. Sometimes we see independant unmarried women who work to support their families like in Dushman E Jaan and Dar Khuda Se .. but we find them struggle in a society which doesn't have much respect for unmarried women. 😔

Of course there are different types of unmarried women which were highlighted in dramas like : lazy , dominating , cunning , working , desperate ...etc .. women aren't all the same . And it is good to know eachothers opinions about this topic.😃

Thanks for the thread❤️.One of my favorite topics😃

Marriage is an Act of Islam and is strongly recommended.Marriage is without doubt one of the important institutions of human society.Married women are significantly less likely to be victims of violent crime than single or divorced women.Unmarried women are not a burden to their families. There are hundreds of benefits to being single. My husband lives in a different country and I live in another country with my family. We are happy in our lives. If you live with your husband, you have to get his permission for everything. In my case, I don't need my husband's permission for everything. . But I agree that a woman cannot survive in society without her husband and children. I have read that women who never get married do not have heart disease.

Many women these days prefer to be independent and live single because they know what stress comes with marriage and they dont want to lose their freedom either. But they still end up getting married due to family pressure and society.

I feel society never leaves a woman alone. When shes single, they will keep nagging her to get married, when shes married they will nag her for kids etc. So if a woman is unmarried or childless she starts feeling "abnormal" and lonely and the main cause of that is society.

I am annoyed on the presentation of unmarried desperate women in Pakistani dramas who have no self respect. Like hello your cousin or friend or whatever has for the umpteenth time told you that he is not interested in you but you still want to get married to him.

Like nobody in their right mind would want to get married to a person who does not even like you and clearly tells you in the face.

Nothing wrong with being unmarried until you find the right person imo. Hate forced marriages, better to stay single than marry someone you don’t want to just for the sake of your family or society. Marriage gives status in society but not everyone has the luxury of finding a perfect match at the right time.

What dramas are you watching with unmarried women as the main leads? I like Dulhan, even though she’s not properly a bride yet.

Yes. Marriage is sunnah. And it is preferable, specially for women in our society. Coz ppl think that women need men to protect them. Although sometimes wives become topic of domestic violence .😒

You pointed to an important issue which is distance marriage. I feel it is like having a husband and yet not having a normal married life.😆 I am enjoying freedom too because I live in the same situation.. but it is very tough to deal with kids, specially when they grow up.😔Responsibility becomes bigger. And women age fast when their husbands aren't around them.😒

I find the last paragraph. How can't women survive if not married , and how are they more healthy! I know many unmarried women here in Aden. And they are fine. 😃 mashaAllah , they live for themselves, and feel free to do whatever they want. Aden is a big city. If this happens in my hometown, a woman won't survive as you said. Ppl there have old way of thinking. And unmarried women are looked down at.🥺

I agree with you . Society keep bullying women . And many women end up getting married to old , unworthy , or married men to silent toungues . 😔 It is high time, women start supporting eachother, and stop interfering in other women's lives. Coz women are half the society but they are more than half of the problem.

I agree. I too am fed up of seeing desperate women who run after uninterested men in almost every Pakistani drama.. From Humsafar till now I don't remember watching any drama which is free from this rubbish. Come on. Women aren't that desperate in real life. 😔 It is just for entertainment.. coz drama makers think that having a vamp is cool.😎 and assures more TRPs.

I think parents have to encourage their daughters to learn and work, and avoid talking to them about getting married untill they become independant. Not before they are 25 yrs age at least.😃

Totally agree. 😊

I myself wasn't lucky to find my soulmate at the right time I believe.😳😆 But my parents didn't talk a single word to me about marriage. In my country parents can't seek rishta for unmarried girls. 😃 In Pakistan they can, so there is high possibility that forced or arranged marriage happen without the girl's will. 😒 But here in Yemen a girl has to wait untill a suitible guy proposes her.😊

I am also disappointed of girl who refuse to get married to perfect matches just because they want to enjoy pachelorhood. 🥺 I know freedom is gr8 , but you don't know when will time slip from your hands , and you may regret not having your husband or kids beside you when you grow older or feel lonely.😒
