I started Crazy rich asians and read 7 chapters but its the most boring book ive ever read or maybe I just cant get into it after reading it ends with us lol but the badly written characters doesnt help either🤢

im reading The Silent Patient and really enjoying it. I got too curious and read spoilers so I know what the twist is🤣

I was planning to set a goal but I have no idea where to start lol

That sucks. I had high hopes from Crazy Rich Asians, quite a few reviews said it was hilarious.

The Silent Patient was so hyped that I was disappointed when I was done with the book. You would have enjoyed the book a lot more if you didn’t know the twist.

But with the pandemic happening I kept adding more and more books in the pile. My current goal is 45 books . Just a book or two away in achieving it.

Well, I liked bully. Liked until you ( boy pov) even more. On the other hand, didn't like punk 57 very much though. It just reminds me how different everyone's taste can be.

I Have read so many books with so many infuriating characters( fallen Crest high is one such dumb book) that I end up liking the books with somewhat reasonable characters.

I love romantic comedies and enemies to lovers romance. I like the slow burn and how the characters fall in love. My favorite part!!!

I am listening to CRAZY RICH ASIANS. it's okay so far. The narrator is so good that I will just finish just for the sake of listening to her voice.

It’s every reader’s dream to be able to finish a book a day. I used to read that way when we had a college break given to us to finish assignments. I didn’t want to do the assignments so I used to read practically the entire day and not do my assignments 😛

The title Bully sounded familiar and turns out that even I’ve read that one, wasn’t a fan of the book. I haven’t heard or read Punk 57. When I was going through my phase of reading romances, I read 2-3 books by Abbi Glines. Don’t think I liked them much either.

Aah...I had high hopes from Crazy Rich Asians. Where are you listening to the audiobook? Even I might give it a listen.

We have quite similar taste @unique.sheep. If I am reading trash it needs to be good trash. The story needs to be good. In real life i wont be dating a mafia but in my books I love a alpha male and the lady love who brings him to his knees. 😆

I love reading on my phone too but my hands get tired lol :(

Yesss I love all my books to have alpha males. Those sweet guys are boring 😆

Toxic love stories are a huge turn off. When I was going through a phase of reading romances, all the highly rated/recommended ones happened to be of this alpha male who mistreated the female but she went back to him nonetheless. I read so many of them with the expectation that one of them will be different and hardly any of them were with the exception of It Ends With Us and a couple of others. I’ve been put off reading romances for this very reason. My problem with these kind of romances is they normalise this sort of behaviour which makes girls think it’s okay to be treated like that.

I’m halfway through My Dark Vanessa and I’m liking it. It’s disturbing and creepy and I’m waiting to see how it pans out. I should finish it in a couple of days.

I think everyone loves the hate to love romance trope. It’s done to death but still doesn’t seem to get old. I like slow burn romances, I hate the instant love romances. As for characters, I used to like alpha male leads but now I find the slightly dorky male leads also appealing. As for female leads, I love female characters who are sassy and have a spine.

I hate instant love romance which is why I could never connect with Ryle

People told me the movies are good but the books are trash.

@anam I am not able to provide you the hyperlink here. But I am reading it from Vk.com. I am not sure if you know about it.

And Ofcourse it's not okay to glorify abuse or cheating. But they are just for enjoyment. People who think that it's okay to be treated like that have some issues to deal with. That's why I like sassy females who clap back. I shamelessly enjoy these kind of books. The heart wants what it wants. 😆

@unique.sheep I prefer silence while reading books and in general. I despise loud and unnecessary noises.

I lose focus if someone is talking behind me or even if the TV is on so I can only read when im alone in the room

And as much as I love alpha males and dark romance I just cannot enjoy physical abuse or cheating. My physical abuse I mean actually hurting the other character physically.

Me too girl. Cheating and physical abuse are just NO for me in a book. I don't think I have ever read books with physical harm (Fifty shades aside). I also don't like books with extremely possessive characters chanting "MINE MINE MINE". That's hilarious and dumb.

Oh I read fifty shades to see what was the hype about. I was not impressed!
