After today’s episode, this is my take on things.
1. The showmakers wanted to introduce innovation and improvise on the existing concept.
2. This improvisation was “conveniently” labelled ‘AB SCENE PALTEGA.’
3. This convenient improvisation allowed the showmakers to tweak the rules as per their convenience and as they deemed fit to run it according to their on-the-spot amendments.
4. They introduced two major changes to the existing format of the show: Seniors in the beginning of the show; and Seasoned BB players towards the finale. Off-spin seasons have taken place before, but this was different in the sense that seasoned players were introduced smack in the middle of the season.
5. Talking of finale - the finale timeline was tweaked to support popular contestants and eliminate those whom they (the CT) opined on not adding value to the show.
6. The four finalists were already decided: Eijaz, Rahul, Rubina, and Nikki.
7. Given Rahul’s renouncement of his zest towards the finale, BB introduced a task that required both physical and intellectual capabilities to win it. The eyes were on the other three finalists, since Eijaz had already satisfied the agenda by winning the immunity stone.
8. Rahul’s discouraged behavior left a gap in the task and Abhinav grabbed the chance, beating both Rahul and Nikki.
9. Nikki bore the brunt of the collateral damage in this warfare. She could have bagged the opportunity, but was left behind by a notch or two, given Abhinav’s physical strength as being biologically a male. Come finale and Nikki was shown the door. Again, BB’s plan was shattered. Obviously, what else can you conclude from her respectful eviction. It was quite distressing, to be honest.
10. By this time, BB was left with no choice but to take a call on Rahul’s behavior. This was their final attempt; their last resort. If we are to believe what Salman said is true, then my guesstimate is that Jasmin was next in line to get eliminated, as Rubina is a much bigger star with a much bigger fan following than Jasmin. Plus, the shows Rubina did have a bigger fanbase than the ones Jasmin did (read Naagin).
11. Rahul was questioned on his failed attitude one last time and because he remained firm on his stand, BB gave up and allowed him to walk out the door.
12. All in all, call it Rahul’s stupidity or his sacrifice, his renouncement has now set a new benchmark in the history of BB. No one has ever done what Rahul has done for the advantage of another contestant. No has willingly walked out when there was an ounce of doubt that they would actually be saved and not get eliminated.
Rahul and Nikki should have stayed. Rahul, for being a one-man army, and Nikki, for being zealous and enthusiastic to win the show.
Abhinav and Jasmin should have been evicted. Abhinav, for being another player’s accomplice all the time, and Jasmin, for vesting her courage and confidence in another player.
