I think Sai being shocked is because knowing something and witnessing are two very different things. She figured it all out but when she saw Pakhi ask that question threw her in for a loop. We all know it’s wrong and she just watched that disgusting wrongness take place. Heck, I’d be shocked too.

I think Pakhi literally got scared that Virat might leave with Sai if Kaku doesn't stop her crass talk and then she won't be able to have Virat in front of her eyes for which she married Samrat. So she had to step in to plead for them to be taken in.
