I personally got the feeling that the only reason Aman said all that to Gia is because he felt her sadness and neglect. He didn't know who did it, but the shyness and introvert nature was manufactured due to the abuse Gia faced from her granny reflected in her personality.

Gia was the first person to warm upto Aman for the same reason, since he spoke to her with love and respect. She really liked him. Hence leading him to favour her more and say those things.
