| Nandini Singh (Kesar's Kesar and Kavyanjali's Pammi) has recently behaved very unprofessionally, unit sources from Kesar say. On November 4, Singh threw the show's shooting schedule in absolute jeopardy.
Says a source, "The actress had been given a call time of 9 am, but she said that she was indisposed and wouldn't make it till 3 pm. We waited for her till 3.30, but unka phone tak nahin aaya.
We called and found out that she had been so late for her Kavyanjali shoot, that she said she would not make it to the Kesar set before 10 pm. All her scenes scheduled for that day were shot with dummies; thankfully, she came at 10 pm and we could shoot her close-ups at least."
The actress, who was an airhostess with Jet airways before she starred opposite Govinda in Subhash Ghai's Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, repeated the stunt on November 5. Scheduled to report for Kavyanjali at 9 am, she reached the sets at 11.30. Subsequently, her Kesar shoot again had to be pushed back.
Adds the source, "This is not the first time such a thing has happened with Nandini. Just few days ago, she was supposed to rehearse for the Star dandiya; Nandini was supposed to rehearse after her Kavyanjali shoot finished at Indiclay, Goregaon. She went directly home, and from there, called and said she wouldn't come to rehearse. We insisted, but she refused." Car seva
Singh refused to relent even if a car was sent to pick her up "We wanted her to rehearse that very day, so we offered her the car — this wasn't a new thing; she fires drivers at an alarming rate, and very often, we have to send her a car to come to the sets and then drop her home. Madam rickshaw ya taxi mein nahin aati.
Singh does not talk to anybody on the sets, except Nikkhil Arya (who plays Rudra). "Except Arya, nobody is interested in talking to her. With Arya too she is extremely moody. She even uses expletives on the sets," the source adds.
Singh was unavailable for comment; she is away in Hong Kong for Kavyanjali, to shoot Romila's (Sushmita Mukherjee) daughter, Ruhina's (Shivalika of Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi) wedding bash, where Nitya (Amrita Singh) will declare that Vaayu (Chaitanya Chaudhary) is her son.
While Ekta Kapoor was unavailable for comment, Nivedita Basu of Balaji told hitList, "Pehle Nandini ke nakhre sune the, lekin ab nahi sune." But, says the source, "Ekta Kapoor ko saari baaten nahin pahunchti. Kaam to chalana hai. But it's getting too much now; Singh's attitude problem has become too much now." Fusspot
We called up one of the creatives for Kesar, who confirmed that Nandini was often difficult. "It's perhaps because she is doing two serials and both shows have her in major roles. But yes, she creates a lot of fuss in make-up, demands that someone drive her up and down from one set to the other whenever her driver is not available, and uses bad language." vickey.lalwani@mid-day.com |
