She wore a cobalt blue, almost half and half split with a orange, with blue batik circles, with a blue sleeveless blouse

The saree thankfully kept in the rain… her messy bun smaller with many tendrils leaking out

Nisha - I found a similar saree with an Etsy vendor. Not cobalt blue but navy blue. Half blue till the pleats and then rest of the half in orange with huge batik print all the way till pallu with orange sleeveless blouse. Wow. 🥰

As all ways, I’m amazed by all the research you put into your story to make it so live and authentic 💕

What about possible flaws in the information you think you have . Or if not flaws then more new information that you have got now in hand to include it within the framework of bounded rationality .

In asking if she can't do that if she marries him, he's offering her principle of solidarity and collaboration. Bounded rationality has to include this new subset of information to bring it into consideration for effective decision making . Otherwise bounded rationality in theory can be seen as flawed 😛

My econ is based on a couple of papers from 5th and 6th semester in engineering college. So that’s ages now ... yeah right not telling when 😛

I had to go a crash course on Bounded rationality today 😊😝

Apart from the laundry list of things we know can be a blocker, she has enough info about Ranaav and his family (more than Abhishek’s) to make a decision. Knows he is a gentleman who won’t kiss in public but will make her knee weak in privacy of his hallway. Will give a ride back whenever wherever. Hold her hands thru the puddle. Doesn’t mind her paying a meal or two. Is openminded about her pursuing PhD and following her dreams after marriage (not sure about carrying their baby in metro!). Is patient to spend time with Dadi. Is straightforward to propose to her parents. Is genuinely interested in her work, family, willing to give an ear. Enough of information to make the call.

But if she needs more information gathering sessions with him at another restaurant, his place, her place - I don’t mind at all 🤩

I liked that he gave her the opportunity to pay her way. That speaks of respect for her. She was quick in answering no to the big question. She doesn't love Abhishek, but does like his profession. She was impressed with his intellect, but now Raanav is also showing her that he is no less.

To covet & To attain

“I might go to tiny villages in UP and Rajasthan to work with craftsmen/women probably” “I will write a thousand letters to policy makers… none will get read… I will spend decades hoping to become an authority so I can moonlight for NCAER (Natl Council for Applied Econ Res) or some think tank

“And You cant do that if you marry me?” he asked

Uh? Umm…”

“I could so do all those… for sure” her heart promised suddenly

“Are you in love with Abhishek?” he asked bluntly

“Oh NO!” she responded in a nanosecond

He looked out through his window and had smiled at the road

He dropped her off at her housing society at 5ish and leaned on the car watching her walk in

“Do your parents know?” she began to walk towards her gate, and walked back in and paused

“Umm.. yes” he nodded

“They don’t care?” she asked

“I will be 31 soon, they are fine with whoever I want to spend my life with” he said quietly scanning her face to understand where these thoughtful questions were coming from

“Even I don’t know what my parents think about this whole thing… I have had students narrate such tales of being whisked away” she smiled with genuine amusement

“Especially during an economics lecture?” he laughed under his breath

“Not everyone takes on Econ for the love” she said sadly “Some find outside love” she smiled getting the joke

“Do you want to go out to dinner next weekend?”

“Oh?”

#Unexpected!

He frequently made her speechless and breathless

“Ah… umm.. Ma’s gone for 3 weeks, she is not even here for Raksha Bandhan..”

“And?”

“You are right though, we should wrap this up” she nodded looking up at him awkwardly

It began to rain… slow soft droplets

“We are so different… I cant even begin to think how different”

“Don’t you believe the saying dissimilar people have intense attraction and happy marriages?” he totally made that one up

“OH REALLY?”

His eyes twinkled but she bought it

“You are beautiful… I agree… but you know” “Umm” she lost her train of thought as she stared at his shoes

He smiled slowly at her back handed compliment

“I mean… oh… please don’t take it the wrong way… I mean… you probably have 100s of women tripping over themselves wanting to be with you” she began to laugh

“I want to know what THIS woman thinks” he smiled his eyes iridescent

“I don’t know” she said quietly sighing

“Who is your dream guy?” he asked softly

She couldn’t believe she was having this convo with THIS man at 6 PM on a Sunday evening outside her parents’ society

“I have none” she lied, and turned pink

“Fantastic!” he said with an audible sigh

She shook her head at his incorrigible words and smiled eventually

“I am very poor at making up my mind… I could take months”

“You know it Viveka… deep down… you already do… you can give me the run around for how ever long you want” he muttered

She didn’t know how to spar with a guy like him, he had an answer for everything

He looked good enough to eat, and was smooth and clever

AND a lawyer

“After next week’s dinner… da… can we call it done?” she asked nervously

The longer she took the closer she will find herself to him she realized

“Mark Twain once said about Tom Sawyer… “In order to make a man covet a thing, it is only necessary to make the thing difficult to attain” he said with a slow smile

“So If I had jumped up and agreed on June 4th it would all be over? She asked logically

“No… we would probably be on our honeymoon right now Viveka… or returned from it and I would be reviewing Fibertek documents before the optical submarine cable work begins, you would be… umm… you would be grading papers in bed, trying to escape me after rattling off dire consequences”

She walked home in daze…. Naina will blast her and wake her up from her stupor..

I had to brush up on crypto economics then. He will come back on time for the weekend project submissions and discussions online , go over my home work and ayya used to be ready for his group engagements .He nogama nombi kumbuttufied😆
