Possible for an actor or actress to debut at 35-40 in today's age?

Just a random thought that came to my mind after coming across and watching so many different webseries in the last couple of months ... do you think it's possible for a new actor or actress to debut at 35-40 ?? As a lead? Or do you think the age rule that applied for actresses especially (by 30 your career is over) is still valid? Same goes for actors?

I do think it could be possible...

If the story of their debut film/show has a 35-40 year old, or even 40+ character as the main protagonist the yeah... but they may end up shifting to character and negative roles very soon as most stories have young characters (20-30) as the main protagonists...

The old rule that an actress's career is over after 30 is clearly not true anymore though... look at Kareena, Deepika, Priyanka, Shraddha

Don't think he/she will be able to make it big as lead in atleast conventional cinema..No precedents either..If it happens , then may be as anomaly which may remain either as anomaly or even less probable , kickstart a new trend..

not as your typical romantic hero or heroine which is all Bollywood focuses on. But they can debut at any age and become successful depending on what movies they are doing.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui after playing minor and supporting characters for a decade, played his first lead role in Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 at the age of 38. Then he got lead roles in many other movies.

If we talk about mainstream actors, Suneil Shetty debuted in Bollywood after crossing 30 and was a bankable Star in 90s.

John Abraham also made his debut after crossing 30 and is still doing well.

If the heroines are hot, good looking and looks younger than their age then they can surely get a debut.

Nargis Fakhri was in her early 30s when she debuted. She was a bad actress but was hot so did glam doll type roles in mainstream films.

Chitrangada also tried to make a comeback to films after taking a break for marriage and pregnancy in her 30s. But she was not so successful.

if the actress looks young as teh audience likes then why not

Yes if the actress is 35-40 and hides her age and says she is in her 20s instead LOL
