Because Hollywood is bigger than Bollywood. More money, more fame. She has anyway achieved a lot in Bollywood.

I actually admire this woman.. because I think she is strategic and smart. I am not saying she is doing amazing work or is a stellar actress. But she learned very fast that if she wanted to stay relevant, she needed to get out of Bollywood, but cannot stay in India and quit bollywood. Otherwise she would be boxed -

She would either have to marry rich or a fellow actor (and the actors she had been with didn’t treat her very well or marry a producer- which would have meant be a second wife)

She would have to become very vocal about politics and everything around and use Twitter as some crazy weapon

She would have to buy some sports team so that she didn’t disappear into oblivion

She would have to disappear into oblivion.

Today, she has found a new lease. We don’t know what happens tomorrow or even 5/10 years down the line...but she has found a new lease on her terms....all of the above are such rabbit holes for actresses in bollywood...
