IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil faced wrath after she posted on social media that bursting firecrackers on Diwali is not a Hindu tradition as there is no mention of crackers in epics and puranas. Kangana Ranaut tweeted,

"Government appoints people like @D_Roopa_IPS to protect fundamental rights of commoners, but look at her obnoxious ignorance like a sore looser she became so vengeful that if she couldn’t win the arguments with facts she simply got @TIinExile eliminated.Shame on you.”

She further said, “Side effects of reservations, when unworthy and undeserving gets the power they don’t heal they only hurt, I don’t know anything about her personal life but I guarantee that her frustration is stemming out of her incompetence.Living off on tax money, these cops are answerable for arm twisting commoners, it’s a valid question rather than taking people’s complaints and assisting them, why is @D_Roopa_IPS indulging in time pass trolling that too in working hours threatening and intimidating youngsters.”

Kangana calls for Twitter ban

In her tweet the outspoken activist even tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office, hoping he can demand the suspension to be lifted.

Kangana did not even stop there either. She later even blasted the micro-blogging site as a whole, and called for its complete block within India.

"When they don’t have answers to your questions they break your house, put you in jail, gag your voice or kill your digital identity. Eliminating one’s digital identity is no less than a murder in virtual world, there must be strict laws against it #BringBackTrueIndology"

@jack@Twitter@TwitterIndia your bias and Islamist’s propaganda is embarrassing, why did you suspend @TIinExile ? Because he busted fake narratives of our history? Shame on you, waiting for the day when you will be banned in India, hope @PMOIndia takes action against twitter."

In her next tweet she wrote, "Sick n tired of being treated like a slave in my own country, we can’t celebrate our festivals, can’t speak truth and defend our ancestors, we can’t condemn terrorism, what is the point of such a shameful enslaved life controlled by the keepers of darkness."

Does she know that fireworks were invented by the Chinese?😆 That, too, in 2nd millennium AD during Song dynasty which was much after events celebrated in Diwali?

I actually like the tradition of firecrackers during Diwali because indulgences make life worth living.

But how is pointing out that fireworks have nothing to do with Hindu tradition now akin to Islamization?

How does that change anything? tradition is whatever people follow, fireworks have been used to celebrate Diwali for centuries, it's very much part of Hindu tradition today, just as celebrating news years with fireworks, is a tradition people follow globally, irrespective of wherever it was invented.

It changes because she actually called it Islamization to take away firecrackers 😆 And also said such claims that they have nothing to do with Hindu tradition distortion of history/Indology.

I'm asking what she thinks Islam has to do with use or nonuse of firecrackers when they were invented neither by Hindus, nor by Muslims. I'm also asking what fireworks have to do with distortion or otherwise of Indology when the Chinese invented them. Fireworks btw came to India only in the 1400s with the arrival of gunpowder. Europeans adopted fireworks before India.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy fireworks and don't think they should be banned. I mean, really! What are these puritans going to do? Take away everything that gives enjoyment? But what Kangana said makes absolutely no sense.

She said it's Islamisation to take away firecrackers? where, I've just re-read the article, she accused Twitter of leftist and a Islamist bias, but that's a completely different thing.

You claimed that fireworks have nothing to do with Hindu tradition because it was invented by Chinese, that is irrelevant, that would be akin to saying Buddhism has nothing to do with Chinese culture because Buddha was an Indian. Hindus have been celebrating Diwali with fireworks for a good few centuries now, so it's very much a tradition. If fireworks existed during the time of Ramayana, then they too would've used fireworks.

That too invented by mistake. The mixture kept in jars caught fire and lighted up. This story is written in Chinese history.
