Well, to each his/her own.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I do not agree that a future-social-reformer and a supposed-leader-of-women in those times should remain as naive and innocent as she was when she was a child. There needs to come about a "thehrav" in her, as someone earlier said in the forum few days back. Not that being chirpy or innocent or naive is undesirable per say, but an adult Bondita should be "willed" and "strong" more than being beautifully innocent. Again, being strong and being innocent need not necessarily be mutually exclusive, but there seems to be a disconnect somewhere with what they're wanting to show with the character.
As you said, the character is slowly growing out of being only her mom's daughter, and slowly transforming into a member of the Roy Choudhary household. Soon to grow up into a catalyst for social change. There needs to be some change in her; that's understandable. But if it's going to border on ITV's "mahaan bahuness", then, they'd better get the leap and show the kind of screenplay they're now showing. There seems to be a disconnect between the character's current position in the overall story, and the dialogues and screenplay they're writing now. Again, this is my opinion and may well seem not valid for someone else. That's completely okay.
And anyway, they are indeed making the character lose her innocence through replicating all the typical ITV bahu traits here. Bhaari bharkam dialogues, the incessant curiosity being absent, dil dhadakna, pati babu aagaye hai aisa lagraha hai mujhe, and what not. So there's hardly any question of the beautiful innocence not being possible in an adult actor, cause I do not see it much even now with the way they are writing the character nowadays. This is not much to do with the actor playing the part.
This is my opinion and everyone can of course disagree completely as I understand how unpopular this discussion is! Thanks for the reply anyway! Cheers :)
I agree to somethings you mentioned. However someone could be matured and could still have a different kind of innocence still stuck to them... I am not going to dwell on that but why we would like to see little Bon is because her way of asking questions is different then how an adult would ask them. Probably the makers are showing the capability of a young intelligent child able to ask thought provoking questions in her own subtle way. Certain dialogues are little to matured but I can see why those dialogue were given to her. Character exploration is necessary and maybe they would have wanted audience to also view that... she is an innocent girl from a village thrown into a world that clearly does not know how to differentiate between right and wrong because it was Male dominant society. Child marraige is still an ongoing issue even in present times... they have to show a progress in the character from being childish to a very capable women in the society. These are just phases she has to pass. Innocence is kept intact with Bon because she she is still young. The general audience wants to see not only Bon's growth but Ani's growth as well not only as an individual but how he develops the bond with Bon. A leap is unavoidable but before that there are certain tracks they can show with little Bon and her journey to being a young matured individual and Barrister. The journey of Bon and Ani both together is the essence of the drama. It is quite natural to feel more attached to someone as you spend more time with them. That is probably why she felt strange when Ani came inside HM... it's just your sixth sense... it happens to people... she doing the bahu duties is because she is going to be an exemplary that a women can handle both house duties and excel in what she desires to do also.. she is not bound by rules set for her due to old traditions... if we notice she is not doing all the household duties more of learning to do them... this would be a clear difference between Mini and Bon! The chemistry between Bon and Ani is just captivating!!! Hope they keep building on their relationship instead of putting Mini inside and trying to show another story that most of us did not sign up for
