Different contexts. Chaapaak should be compared with Raazi, in which context it definitely flopped. But their last mainstream big budget releases were Zero and Padmavat.

Chhapaak can't be compared with Raazi. Raazi was a patriotic thriller. The movie had commerical elements. Chhapaak was a movie with a dark subject which reduced it's appeal.

Zero had SRK playing a dwarf again reducing it's appeal, and it was a bad movie so it flopped. Padmaavat was Blockbuster because it was liked by audience. It was not all because of stardom of Ranveer and Deepika.

See? even I can give excuses.😎

Padmaavat being an unwatchable film is your personal opinion. The movie trended very well at box office so it was liked by the audience, and the biggest draw of the film was Ranveer's performance.😆
