Yeah ukhana concept is pretty cool 😎

Bold and italic - Yeah there is a custom like that. But I attended my cousin brother's wedding a few years back and his mom refused to let the bride's parents to follow this ritual. That earned her a lot of accolades from most and some frowning from few family members 😆

Sure, I will try to answer to my best 😃

So far so good Manju 🤗(I hope I can call you Manju😳)

I'll try Ukhana concept in my cousin's wedding. For us, while gruhapravesh, both the bride and groom should mention each other's names, something like that. Then some teasing goes on and only then they are allowed inside. This time I'll try this 🤩

Wow! His mom earned my respect too. Actually for us, bride's brother needs to do that. Whenever my marriage topic comes, me and my brother argue with my parents that he'll not do and my dad is like, since he is younger to u, nothing's wrong in it. He can take blessings from his baava (I think jiju in hindi)😆

Haha do try and let me know how it went. You might want to give them a heads up though, unless they are good in on the spot poetry 😆

Yeah some rituals need to be done but when done is lighter note, they can be fun too ⭐️ and its not easy to be bride's brother i see 😆

anyhow, do let me know if there are more marathi terms you guys need help with, okie?

My mom started watching Hindi serials to learn hindi and I used to watch them with her. That's how it all started for me.

Now I'm planning to learn a little bit of Marathi too 😆

YES, My mother tongue is Italian and I do understand Hindi because of my parents......and watching Hindi movies.

Are you from India?

You can call me Pranu😳

Ofcourse I will. I just hope I get to attend the wedding. Because of the current situation, can't say

Being bride's brother is really not easy 😆But I think it depends on our bonding. I think If jeeja-saala have good rapport, they'll handle it themselves 😆

I'll surely reach out to u for anything related to Marathi 😳

Btw, what is dado sutto? I hope pronouncing it correctly

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a marathi term, Pranu. what was the context?

Maybe I missed to understand the word. There's a character in the show who uses that word frequently. It's like her catchphrase.. For instance, her FIL cracked a joke on her husband and she said, daadosutto baba. But now i think that's not a Marathi word Manju.

Hi, I am a Maharashtrian, and this is the first thing that attracted me to this show. Usually They use Marathi background but the actors are non-Marathi who can't get the accent/pronunciation right. In other shows like Choti Sardarni, characters blatantly switch between Hindi and Punjabi making it really hard to understand what's going on.

I think more shows are needed to show the diverse Indian culture. I would love to see Assamese, Oria, Mizo, Naga, Andaman/Nicobar and so on. There's so much unexplored potential.

It sounds like sindhi lol I think karishma is sindhi hence bhavanis disdain for besides not being rich or the fact she and Mohit had a court marriage. I'm part sindhi and it sounds sindhi to me. It means behtareen/ the best etc
