And yeah I guessed they would have brought back Shilpa because of her popularity, but having three different actresses as the lead was too weird, there was definitely something going on imo...

I wish they didn’t shut down Star One, most of the shows were popular as well... now “Indian serials” really just means saas-bahu stories, nothing aimed at younger people...

Star One was the best Indian channel honestly. After it shut down there was a drastic change of youngsters switching to English language shows...coz it was better than the crappy saas bahu shit. We had nothing that specifically catered to us anymore. I too moved to Star World and Zee Cafe. Then a few months later MTV stopped producing shows and Channel V shut down too, pushing the same audience moved to web shows and OTT.

I never saw the latter two channels but it was sad to see how the youth never got entertainment catered to them. Another show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan from MTV was incredibly popular, they actually did a season 3 on VOOT since all the viewers had moved to online platforms.

PKYEK was like an indian remake of Twilight I think, but Sukirti >>> Kristen Stewart, imo 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yeah I liked Vivian in Madhubala as well (though I’m still annoyed that they would give the show that name when it has nothing to do with the late actress)

I remember KYY and it’s popularity well though, it’s a shame Parth and Niti didn’t really get anything worthwhile after that... I know Parth was in the remake of Kasauti Zindagi Ki which recently went off air because it was simply too ridiculous 🤦🏽‍♀️...

Imo there’s a big space in the market for a new youth channel in India!

Yeah I liked Vivian in Madhubala as well (though I’m still annoyed that they would give the show that name when it has nothing to do with the late actress)

Absolutely. Actually PKYEK had more elements of TVD initially and then turned towards Twilight. But yeah Suku and Viv >>>>>>Bella and Edward 😃

I stopped watching Madhubala coz there was too much drama and RK did such crap all the time...I couldn't take it. MEIEJ was supposed to be an ode to 100 yrs of cinema...the writers and makers destroyed it. I sat thru like RK-Madhu's first wedding and then gave up.

Thats the problem na, even if I want to watch mt faves on screen I can't coz of the bs drama they show.

KZK's remake was actually something I did watch initially mainly due to nostalgia. I couldn't believe how they ruined it. It was all show no substance. Itna hype kiya ki script pe dhyan hi nahi diya.

I swear ITV should come up with more youth oriented shows. Instead they're bringing back the Rasoda show 🤢

Na Saathiya was hilarious in the early days 😆... but then even that got ruined totally after Rashi died...

And yeah Madhubala was terrible as a show, Vivian and Drashti were good but sometimes a story is so rubbish that no amount of good acting can save it... MEIEJ was sadly one of those cases, especially after the stupid leap 😵... also calling the hero RK was pretty disrespectful too, surprised they got away with that...

Imagine a youth channel showing good new serials, maybe doing re runs of the most popular old ones, combined with a couple of reality shows and maybe a celebrity gossip show, possibly some social media based show talking about viral content... I can see it getting sooo popular
