Imo its good that they haven't recasted Daya...its too iconic and the original portrayal is etched in my memories...anyone else, no matter how talented, won't be able to bring the audience to enjoy it.

Anyways, Daya's character evolved and became super sanskari, intelligent, full of Amdavadi ideas and what not. Also due the voice modulation for so many years her voice became screechy.

But still as a character, her role is important and her absence us illogical

I blame the new directors and producers. They have ruined tmkoc. Daya had a unique but not screechy voice and suddenly they changed it, made her shit ideas work and her character just became so annoying and ott. Also directors making everyone do overacting
