I find that each individual has their own unique gender identity and sexual orientation. The reason we have so many new terms pop up is that every time someone is slightly different - society alienates them and makes them feel less than. So people tend to seek people with similar experiences and create an identity around them.

The day people stop getting alienated for being different and get embraced for who they are - new identities will stop spawning.

But do people get 'alienated' for being with minimal sexual attraction, being greysexual or whatever? I doubt it.

It can happen - unintentionally.

During teenage years when friends talk about crushes, sex, and dating - it can feel alienating and confusing to people who are not experiencing being a teenager the same way as others. If they speak up about it - they may be teased for being prudish or told that they just haven't met the right person. For a long time people with low interest in sex, especially men were treated as if something was wrong with them. People were being convinced to take hormones and performance enhancement pills so they could feel libido just like "normal" humans.

Yeah they didn’t equate sex with their relationship in the movie. But it was the case I don’t think she was in the right state to give consent

How did you come to the conclusion that they didn't have kids because Jihilmil is not mentally sound enough to go through a pregnancy? 😆 It could be that they didn't wish to have a child, or that they weren't able to conceive as well right?

It seemed she had autism spectrum disorder. If there was a learning disorder it was a minor one. SHe was able to gauge shruti's interest in barfi and learn from her behaviour. She makes a conscious decision to assert her position in barfi's live in the last part of the movie too. That means she had quite a good mental capacity. Sex would not be an issue in that case.

Asexuals can also masturbate. They can even experience arousal as a bodily response to various things. These things can differ from the “usual attraction towards another individual”. Again it depends on how to define asexuality. Current usage is more in the line of saying asexuals are not sexually attracted to individuals. But they may or may not have a sex drive.

Whether this sort of definition will stand the test of time is a different matter.

Heard a term, forgot what it's called, when a HW celeb (Again dunno whether it was real statement or fake), I think Russell Crowe, said that he is X (That term). Meaning he enjoys sex but he doesn't like to enjoy that with other living being, he likes to love himself, with or without sex toys? Dunno.

So ch'yapa karne wale will categorize him as asexual.
