You know what else is wrong? Taking each and every work of past and ruin it by judging it from today’s moral compass. This movie was made 25 YEARS AGO! Definitely things were not as sensitive as today. In future, some of today’s movies will be judge too. There is no perfect movie.
I disagree, DDLJ is a perfect film. Period.
What people forget is that this movie and the problematic scenes in this movie were a result of our ancestors giving a thumbs up and approval to those and maybe much worse scenes in movies.....that is why it was there...let us blame our poorvajs....This generation doesn't approve of such scenes so we don't have them now....
I don't know the obsession to dissect a 30 year old movie with current ethics and morality.
Only the hotel scene was problematic... rest all were ok imo...
And btw what Simran’s mom says to her is INTENDED to be problematic, we as the audience are not supposed to agree with her 😂🤦🏽♀️
It's not like today's generation has grown above these type of misogynist moments in movies.
The most loved movie of this decade, which is considered a classic by everyone from critics to classes and masses had this scene :

This was released just 5 years ago. Some people called out this scene but most people ignored it, and praised the epic scale and VFX which overshadowed every flaw in the movie according to them.

It is a poor movie even if you ignore these things. Anyway you can’t knock sense in nostalgic fan girls.
Might as well wait till Kabir Singh becomes iconic and see everyone lose their shit.
Kabir Singh is already iconic dude.
It was set in 1995. And yes Raj was a pervert and a creep but so we're most men at that time and even now.

wow...The DDLJ scenes look like a bhajan now....
The point is that do we shun an entire good movie with a good social message just because of a few scenes.....let us remember this movie happened 25 years back...they have to put some entertainment too....the kind that the audience will enjoy otherwise it just becomes a documentary.
The whole train sequence was problematic

In real life a guy like Kabir Singh would languish inside a prison cell. If Priti grew a spine and complained to college that a senior is harassing her he would have been rusticated as he already had anger management issues. If she did a police complain, he would be behind bars for harassing a woman.
He would have been arrested for medical negligence for drug and alcohol use during surgery. NCB would have arrested him under Narcotics prevention act. It would be unbailable for him due to his previous incidents with police.
So such a person is a big burden on society.

I've always been fascinated by scenes where two actresses share the screen there’s something electric about it when it's done right. Think of...
