Mahesh bhatt was a guest at a book release event where a conspiracy theory on 26/11 being a rss job was released... Now if that was freedom of expression then why was the book on alternative perspective to Delhi riots blocked.. Why was Bloomsbury bullied into dropping the book? Why did the authors have to Garuda Prakashan? It does show how things work.

When Barkha can get away with 'error of judgement' defense why can't.. Didn't her reporting during kargil, terrorist attacks lead to loss of lives.. How responsible where the right leaning media then? They were also irresponsible.. Riots coverage is never done sensitively.. We all know how death toll is released just to sensationalise.. It is in their interests to keep the pot boiling. Didn't even Ravish Kumar identify Jafrabad shooter as Anurag Mishra and not mohd Shahrukh.. Didn't the original anurag mishra-a guy with political leanings get into trouble because of it... No one can give out names willy nilly..why identify in the first place? And that too with due diligence . This is as insidious as the right wing's naxal bhabhi narrative.. Both would for ent trouble. I don't believe that any of top journos heart is in the right place.. Manipulation is all that do.

What apologies will be tendered to people wrongly accused of crimes.. Jasleen kaur case, Rohtak sisters case? Weren't the whole of the media involved.. Now it is a very grey area on what to report or not.. Media sometimes can't wait till the resolution of a case to report on it.

Just think about Sudeeksha bhati case - the girl had won a scholarship and was studying in the US.. Had come to bulandshahar for holidays and died in a road accident.. Her family alleged eve teasing.. Media took it up.. Two innocents were arrested and shamed.. A lot of people were mocked.. What happened in the end? The SIT acquitted the accused based on CCTV evidence. The cousin driving the vehicle was underage and didn't have a DL... Was the media wrong in taking up the case? How can anyone know prima facie who is lying.. While eve teasing is frequent in India, accusing innocents of it is also a crime.. What recourse do the innocents have? People know about the case but not about the clean chit..I read about the progress of the case on India today and was shocked

I am not telling that Rhea deserves what she got.. But what I am telling is that media outlets of all hues run vilification campaign on the ordinary citizens with the flimsiest of evidence.

It is just not republic but all news channels are guilty of it. I don't expect bollywood as a group to target others because even I would have done the same. What bothers me however is that they assume to be the conscience keeper of the nation.. Holier than thou attitude..

The holier than thou statement isn't for this situation. It is for the thought leader mantle that Bollywood generally assumes...you may think it is fine but I find it hypocritical coming from them-that is my opinion and I wrote it.

Rhea and others specifically targeted definitely have to approach the court of law.. Bollywood as a whole? Some people think it is right but I don't think so... Other industries are vilified too.. Anchors cry hoarse screaming corporate greed, names of businessmen are also dragged along in reports of scam.. It isn't that Bollywood a specific target.. A lot of industries are.. Politicians and policemen are targeted this way too... Diatribe against Mumbai /UP /Bihar police also takes place... .how was the coverage of Augusta Westland scam.. People were hounded then too.. Didn't Rajiv Gandhi suffer from Bofors allegations.. Media did it and the stain couldn't be washed away.. A lot of political careers were destroyed this way.. Does that mean scams shouldn't be investigated by journalists? Language should be censored but a lot of people in public life say worse things in media..a lot of people in public life, actors included just shoot allegations and scoot... Accountability lies with everyone who speaks to media.. Not just journalists but also the panelists.. The ones being interviewed.. The ones writing an op-Ed.. I feel members of Bollywood has been openly taking stances which will be questioned

I am not saying that media is God but I find it hypocritical when bollywood as an industry petitions like this. Whether they sue or not is their look out but I don't agree that Bollywood is the only victim. I hold on to my views in this regard

I am nowhere telling that they can't seek a legal opinion.. They can and they will.. It is a free country.... I found the stance rather rich coming from them.. I don't mean to say that they don't have legal redressal.. It is just that they cry foul when they are to be regulated. News need to be regulated first.... But what would be the industry's stance on regulating OTT? ( i know that it is fiction) but by that logic anything presented for public viewing must be approved isn't it..

I have my sympathies with the women who were victims of the whole ssr incident. They need an on - air apology.. . But I find Bollywood petition vain- again my opinion and I don't speak for anyone

BW may be be bad but they are not as bad as media or politicians who are 24 hours lying through their teeth and openly inciting people sitting in their homes . I wonder why are people stuck to bw forum and bw related info like glue when they think this is the worst industry and its people are immoral , druggies, terrorist sympathisers......koi logic nahi 😔

Bollywood forum is just a name.. Just like how one needn't be an Indian / lover of India to be on India forums, the same is for Bollywood forums... People come here to interact with others and post their POV. One needn't be a fan to read about and discuss something.. Are people reading books on dictators their fans? Nope.. People read things that interest them.. A lot of people read books on criminal, it doesn't mean they like them.. They are interesting subjects...their psychology and their fallacies might intrigue some people.

I for one do have a few favourites in Bollywood and I do watch their movies..I read about the rest because they talk on political issues which I keep track of...and yes I do read about people I don't hold in high regard.
