News is not entertainment period, but for the race of trps it has become a circus show and not just times now and republic even india Today and ndtv too the reporting and the hypocrisy is on another level.

Bollywood should concentrate on churning out good content instead of creating pr stars.

Both media and Bollywood industry have used each other.

What has come out of it is hopefully the general public see Bollywood as entertainment and not put these actors , directors on a pedestal and stop hero worship

Force media to report facts , yes you can have an individual opinion or idealogy but stop shoving it down our throats. You present the facts that is enough and an in depth of every state of the country.

Alas this might just be a wish and may never happen but one can hope.

Why is it so difficult for some to distinguish between FICTION and NEWS. One is supposed to be made up stories even if they have some basis in reality. The other is supposed to be factual. Period. Defamation, slander and libel by the media are actionable offenses. If the media wants to make up stories and air them they should get into the film or TV business.

Both are point of views. If some find it difficult to comprehend it, it is their problem.

A piece of news can be presented on different channels in a different way and will send a different message to viewers.

A movie on same topic can be made in a different way with different messages to it's patrons by two different people.

What applies to news channels also applies to movies because movies are a part of media along with the news and TV.

The fact that some people don't know the difference between Fiction & Non-fiction is deeply concerning. Movie Making is fiction, most of it at least, some non-fiction and you can definitely sue someone for presenting the facts wrong in a non-fiction film. Journalism is Non-fiction, at least in theory but looking at the Indian media thats far from true. You can't make up your own stories when you're reporting something as facts.

Not to mention there's a Code of Ethics related to Journalism in every country. The journalists also take an oath like Doctors do.

While various codes may have some differences, most share common elements including the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability, as these apply to the acquisition of newsworthy information and its subsequent dissemination to the public.

So No, you can't be biased. Your job as a journalist is to do a proper research, collect facts and report them in an unbiased manner. There's also Opinions where you can take whatever side you want but can't sell it as facts like these news channel were doing. Calling out all the geniuses who can't tell the difference between film making and journalism.

All fiction is based on some fact, the job of fiction is to present that fact/s in a manner that suits the presenter. News channels do the same.
