Bani's breakdown made me feel so emotional. Your words have captured the vulnerability and innocence very precisely. Because Bani has always lost the people she has loved... Her parents and now Jay... I could feel her.

“good because i’m not letting you go,” - I really want to see this kind of confidence in Bani after she realizes the truth.

Veer's confession of love was so subtle and simple. Totally suits him.

Bani gulped. She felt emotions like never before... He was standing too close but she was trying not to pay attention.

raanjhana; naagin 5 (chapter 7)

the next morning, bani woke up to an empty room. she thought veer was in the bathroom getting ready or something but didn’t find any noise from in there. she called out for him and didn’t hear anything either so entered to find no one.

she then went down to try and find him, perhaps he was chilling with his family or maybe he went to eat?

bani saw her father in law about to leave and some other family members around the hall doing their own thing.

she went to ponky to ask him about veer, “ponky, have you seen veer anywhere?”

“no bhabhi, is he not in your room?”

“no he wasn’t there when i woke up so i thought maybe he came down.”

veer’s dad heard them and got slightly worried, “veer wasn’t in the room?”

“no daddyji, i woke up and he wasn’t there, he wasn’t in the bathroom either. i checked upstairs so i thought he’d be here. did he leave and go somewhere?”

“not that i know of. i haven’t seen him since i woke up though. ponky go out and check with the drivers,” he instructed.

ponky left and the other cousins came down to see what was happening. they had no idea where veer was either and this started to worry bani.

“daddyji, i'm getting really worried. what if something happened?”

“bani don't worry, veer will come back fine. nothing can happen to him, he’s my son. i will burn the world down if anything happened to him.”

ponky came back in, “bade papa, no one saw him leaving and the drivers are all here. i don’t think he took the car he just left alone maybe?”

the family started to get really worried and bani, at the back of her mind was thinking of how mayuri and jay wanted to kill veer. she went to the mandir of their house and prayed for him. she didn’t know what to do and felt helpless. her husband was out there and he didn’t inform anyone. the cheels left to look for him.

a few hours went by and the family were pacing back and forth in the living room. some trying to call him, some yelling, some flying out trying to find him. bani was still praying. she wouldn’t leave and kept praying for her husband’s safety.

after some time, veer entered to see the house members tensed and wasn’t sure what was going on.

“what’s wrong, is everything okay?”

“veer! oh god veer are you okay?” veer’s dad asked, relieved.

“dad, i’m fine what’s going to happen to me?” veer asked genuinely surprised as to why everyone seem worried.

“veer, we’ve been looking for you all morning. we’ve been calling, going out, asking everyone. bani has been in the mandir praying now for 4 hours straight. she hasn’t eaten, she hasn’t spoken to any of us. she’s been worried sick. where did you go without telling us?” veer’s dad responded, annoyed with how relaxed his son was.

“dad, i had the work meeting to go to. we spoke about it a few days ago, there was the deal you wanted me to sort out. i went there. their office is fifteen minutes away so i flew there and i didn’t want to disturb the drivers. my phone died because i forgot to charge it last night i'm sorry i should’ve informed bani before i left. where is she?”

“i forgot about this oh god bani has been so worried,” veer’s dad had completely forgot about the meeting and didn’t know how to respond.

“bhabhi is in the mandir still praying, please go to her she’s been worried sick,” ponky interjected.

“thank you ponky, dad i’ll talk to you later let me check on bani,” veer said and left to go to the mandir room in their house.

veer entered to see bani on the floor praying, “bani.”

bani looked back and saw veer, her first reaction was relief. she was relieved that neither jay nor mayuri did anything to her husband. but with that relief, came the tears as she had been holding back for the last few hours now trying to be optimistic. bani got up and the tears were kicking in.

veer stepped forward and cupped her face in his hands, “i’m sorry i—“

bani hugged him. she didn’t let him finish, she just went in his arms and hugged him. she needed to make sure he was real and this was real, that he was alive and well. veer comforted her and after a few minutes she stepped back.

“i was worried sick. where were you?”

“sweetheart, i'm sorry. i went for a meeting. i told dad but it slipped his mind. my phone was dead. i'm really really sorry.”

“you could’ve told me. you could’ve woken me up and told me, left a note, told someone. something veer, you could’ve done something,” bani was getting upset now. how could he be so careless?

“i know, i should’ve told you.”

“i thought something happened. my mind went to the worst places possible. i thought jay and mayuri did what they set out to do, what they said they would do,” bani continued.

“sweetheart,” veer started but before he could calm his gharwali, she continued.

“i thought you were, i thought you were dead. i thought i wouldn’t ever see you again,” bani said emotionally, her voice breaking in between. “please, i'm begging you, don’t ever do this again. wake me up, leave a note, just let me know before you leave.”

bani was so exhausted from the morning, she couldn’t take the anxiety anymore and she was upset at veer for being careless. when veer heard her say those words with the worry in her voice, his heart broke. he felt miserable. his gharwali was worried all morning because of him.

“have you eaten?” bani then said.

“no but have you?” veer asked.

bani didn’t respond, instead she left the mandir and veer followed. she told everyone to sit at the table and got breakfast ready. no one had eaten all morning and she wanted to make sure they all sat down and calmed down as the morning was hectic to say the least.

bani was upset with veer, she didn’t want to talk to him at the moment. she was relieved but so upset with the events of the morning that she just wanted time for herself so after she served breakfast.

“enjoy, please eat properly i know you guys haven’t eaten. i’ll come down in a bit, let me know if you guys need anything.”

“bani, are you not going to eat?” veer’s dad asked.

“no daddyji, i'm fasting today so i’ll eat later tonight.”

bani excused herself and left for her room. she went to get ready for the day as she went down earlier in her pyjamas. veer couldn’t eat knowing bani wasn’t and after what she said, he wanted to assure her that he was fine as he noticed she was upset with him. veer went to the room and waited for bani to come out.

“did you eat?” bani asked.

“sweetheart, i'm sorry. i'm sorry i made you worried. i should’ve told you before i left and i promise to do so in the future. i’ll never leave without informing you again. but, if you're worried about jay and mayuri then don't be. they won’t be able to touch you, i promise.”

“i'm not worried about me, i'm worried about you veer.”

“you don't need to be.”

“yes i do, you're my husband. i will always worry for you. did you eat?”

“why are you fasting?”

“i'm fasting because it’s another big day for shivji bhakts, like the day we went to the mandir? except instead of a puja, we fast and do a puja.”

“wait but that was for husbands?”

“yes and so is this, i'm fasting for you and your well being. will you come with me later to the mandir to do the puja?”

“you’re keeping this for me?” veer was touched, he couldn’t believe the change between bani a few days ago and now. it went from her not caring to her fasting for his well being.

“yes patidev, i’m keeping it for you. now tell me, why didn’t you eat?”

“gharwali isn’t eating, how can i eat? can i ask you something?”

“veer please eat, you don’t need to keep the fast anyways. and yes ask.”

“did you keep that puja for jay? the one that i barged in the other day?”

bani wasn’t sure how to reply, she didn’t want to lie but she was scared of hurting him.

“um, yes i did. i was going to but then you came and so i was going to do it with you.”

veer didn’t want to dwell into it. he was slightly hurt but the fact that bani was keeping a fast for him today was enough to ignore that.

“i'm keeping the fast with you. i want your well being as well.”

bani smiled at this and the rest of the day went with them fasting and sitting in the room doing their own thing. after sunset, she told veer it was time to go to the mandir.

i'm so so sleepy if not i’d continue with the next part. i promised an update though and i wanted to give you guys the update tonight. next chapter will be the puja and some other vani scenes i’ve planned out. i think we’ll get an OS out tomorrow morning and an update at night? thank you for reading x

The scene reminded me of the contrary Sindoor daan scene on TV (Writer didi, aisi Bani chahiye. Sensitive Or caring. Aisi nahi jo har doosri baat par bole maaro mujhe maaro😵)

bani and veer left to go to the mandir. veer and bani both fasted throughout the day for each other. once they reached the mandir, panditji gave bani the puja thali. she and veer stood in front of the shivling and did the pooja together. they started with pouring milk and then the aarti. once they finished, bani bent down to take veer’s blessings but he stepped back.

“veer?”

“sweetheart, no. i’m your equal. i don’t want you doing this.”

“acha baba theek hai, puja is complete. wanna go home and eat? i’m starving.”

“actually, i had a better idea.”

they went in the car and veer took bani to a rooftop restaurant. you could see the entire mumbai skyline from there.

“i made dinner reservations for us, i thought we’d have our first date today. since we never really got to do so previously,” veer said.

“funny how we got married without ever going on a date,” bani chuckled.

“technically satyug was out first date baby.”

“offo veer i dont think that counts since i killed you on our “first date””

“i guess the date was bad then. hopefully you don’t kill me after this date?”

bani rolled her eyes, “i said i was sorry na, also no how could i kill you? i just fasted for you, would be such a waste of the fast if i killed you.”

“gharwali you’re too much,” veer said and they both cracked up.

“okay so since we’re on a first date, let’s get to know each other?”

“sounds like a very human thing to do, sure go ahead sweetheart.”

“where’s your mom? sorry heavy but we’ve never spoken about this before.”

“she passed when i was young. so it’s been dad ever since,” veer responded.

“do you miss her?”

“i don’t think of her that much. probably cause i don’t remember her and i’ve never felt her absence but i do wonder about her sometimes. i hope she’s happy wherever she is and proud of me,” veer expressed honestly.

“there’s no reason for her not to be proud of you. you’re a wonderful person and i’m sure wherever she is, she’s incredibly proud of the person you are.”

“you are amazing. thank you sweetheart. now my turn, which family member would you say you can call your own? basically someone you know you can go to and would be there for you through anything.”

“you.”

“i meant family sweetheart.”

“you are my family. i don’t want to get into it but you are the only person i can call my own and the only person i can go to knowing you’d be there for me through thick and thin. i know you’d go above and beyond for me. i know you will always protect me.”

“i never thought i’d hear so many sweet words from my gharwali back to back but i’m not complaining.”

bani started laughing, “nautanki, i’m always nice to you veer.”

“if you say so, now next question. how many kids do you want?”

“ummm i’m not sure thats even possible for us but one. what about you?” bani asked.

“they’d be hybrid babies sweetheart, and same.”

“we’ll come to that conversation when the time comes, i don’t feel like fighting shivji and markaat right now for a kid,” bani said.

they kept talking and asking each other questions for the rest of the dinner. once they got back from dinner, bani found her family at the house.

“papa is everything okay?”

“bani, i called your family here for dinner as i thought you might be missing them,” veer’s dad said.

“thank you daddyji, that means a lot,” bani was extremely happy to have her papa and meera di.

meera and bani went to her room for some time to catch up and once dinner was ready they went down to spend time with the rest of the family.

“bani, don’t you cook for the family?” bani’s chachi asked.

“we have cooks and i don't want bani stressing about making food,” veer replied.

“but she makes amazing food and surprises us with our favorite dishes despite us having cooks,” ponky chimed in.

chachi didn’t bother to continue the conversation, smiled and sat down. she wanted to pick on bani as usual.

they all had their dinner and the family decided to let bani spend time with hers so they excused themselves. veer was around but didn’t sit with them as he wanted her to have her alone time with them.

“you must be very happy here bani, i mean this was supposed to be meera’s luck but…” chachi trailed off.

“stop, what are you saying?” bani’s dad reprimanded.

“what? this was supposed to be meera’s. what is bani’s status in compared to meera? she is some girl you pick up from the road, but look at her luck? first she lived off of us and then she entered the singhania house,” chachi said bitterly.

veer was getting increasingly upset but controlled himself. bani was tearing up but didn’t want veer to see because she knew he was around and didn’t want to cause a scene.

“ma, stop. you wanted bani out of the house and you got that didn’t you? why are you starting this now?” meera said.

“meera, don't come into this. bani’s the reason you didn’t get to marry veer. god knows why your father had to bring her to our house. we fed her, gave her a roof, and she decided to pay us back by taking away your happiness. ungrateful.”

before chachi could keep going, veer intervened unable to listen to more.

“stop. don’t you dare say another word against bani. meera is a great girl but i love bani, i have always loved bani and no matter what would’ve happened, i would’ve married bani. this has nothing to do with bani, it has to do with me. it’s my fault that meera didn’t get married in this house. not bani’s. second, she doesn’t live off of us. she is mrs singhania, she has every right on this house as i do. she takes care of us, she has truly made this house a house. we are incredibly lucky to have her,” at this point, some of the members had heard what was going on and came down to see what happened. bani listened and didn’t say a word in all of this, she just looked at veer while meera was holding on to her as she was about to cry from chachi’s comments and now because of the way veer was standing up for her.

“and third, bani is not ungrateful, she is the farthest thing from that but you’re right, you gave her food, clothing, a roof. so let’s do one thing, calculate how much she has costed you since she entered your house and i will give you that amount back. i don’t want you ever telling bani she owes you anything. mrs singhania owes you nothing and i will make sure of it. papa, i'm sorry but i won’t tolerate another word against bani.”

veer apologized to bani’s dad and he simply smiled at him. he took his wife and bani’s family left. the rest of the singhania family was there and they were about to comfort bani.

“i'm really sorry this happened,” bani apologized to the family.

“sweetheart, don’t. you didnt do anything that you need to apologize.”

“bhabhi, are you okay?” one of the cousins asked.

“yes, i'm okay. don’t worry, i'm fine,” bani smiled but she was choking up and before she started crying in front of them, she ran up to her room.
