Anushka wasn't being targeted in the first place so she could have kept quiet and minded her own business. She didn't need to get involved in this mess. But the fact that she stood up with the others in solidarity shows spine. She deserves credit for that when even Deepika won't stand up after the harassment she got.

There's hardly anything to fear when there are much bigger names involved. If the media wants to attack for this, they will go after SRK, Salman and Karan Johar. Everyone else will skate by anyway.

They haven't already? They've been sliming people without any evidence, dealing in Blind Items and playing Alphabet Soup accusations. If they could have dug up some dirt with even an iota of evidence I assume they'd air it. Unless they're just really really lazy.

This is actually a silly move in context to FOE which BW is very 'pro'. If the court passes any kind of judgement/guidelines it won't just be against these respective media houses. It will be for all the media houses and thus the entertainment industry as a whole. Petitions and judgements against all the media/news/productions houses will become fair game and so will the judgements. They are just opening a can of worms, playing right into the hands of the govt. Ab agar someone decides to file cases against NDTV or Faye D'Souza or the likes of Kashyap n co, they won't have the leg to shout about FOE

Movie industry is an entertainment industry. News media is not. They have deifferent codeS of conduct and guidelines. Even if the BW gets counter sued, they won’t stand in court, unless, the movies are said to be traitorous or seditious to the nation.

Possible but think the Producers Guild has asked all active A list prodn houses to be part of the list . DEepika and others have produced an occasional film or so but don’t have a full fledged prodn house .

The only big exception I can see is Viacom 18 .

Viacom 18 ka owner poore India ka baap hai 😆... he can choose to do anything he pleases..he can afford not to join..if he has some issues, he can sort it out with a phonecall, he doesn't need to join the filmwallahs here..he looks down on celebrities as hoi polloi anyway ..

They must have planned it well then, they took time and are taking a stand collectively. Whereas in the media industry everyone is fighting against each other. 😆
