Why did Shagun marry Raman?

I often think about this and wonder why and how a selfish, opportunistic woman like Shagun agreed to marry a simpleton like Raman?

P.S. I don't recall Shagun ever vocalising it except for of course flaunting to Ishita how Raman was head over heels in love with her just to infuse a sense of insecurity in the latter.

Shagun was one highly selfish woman. I think at that point of her life, Raman was the best option available, so she married him. When Ashok started getting interested in her, she left Raman..If someone richer than Ashok got interested in her, she would have left Ashok too.

According to the show,shagun came from a broken family .

Normally,decent grooms don’t come by for such girls .
Everyone hopes for an everlasting marriage for their sons/daughters .

Knowingly none would invest in such a marriage

Mrs Bhalla was never really good at finding matches for her children .

Raman was a heaven sent groom .

Shagun would have wanted a better life than the one that she grew up in .

For starters,Raman would have been a good option .

N Ofcourse .Each richer man she saw would have provided her a better lifestyle .

Hence all the hopping around .

Since her parents were not the ideal couple ,shagun would not have bothered about an enduring marriage n loyalty .

RAMAN WAS A SOLUTION ONLY FOR THE TIME BEING .

The bhalla’s were totally at fault for finding a girl from this kind of family .

They had done this knowingly .

Most young girls n boys find their would bes attractive n nod their head in approval for marriage .

Parents n relatives are the ones who do all the research n sifting .

The senior bhallas had been lucky for shagun .

Judging by her(shagun’s) chr throughout the show,I don’t think she would have married Raman with the want of a stable family .

You guys forgot nidimaa, first there had fixed, but Yoshi went n broke the marriage saying Raman is not interested. Toshiji wanted beautiful bride for her then son nerd Raman, she might flaunt shagun as beautiful.

Somewhere in one episode Raman father said this. Also after marriage, due to her Raman n her father ristha too became broken. Hence we saw few episodes Raman father being anger on him...

Thinking of it, there's definitely some problem with the senior Bhallas. Almost all the matches they found for their kids were disasters ( Raman, Simmi and Rinki) *Facepalm*

Shagun character is very much shallow she never satisfied what she has she wants more to fulfill her ambitious but her life doesn't gave her the chance until she met raman

In show it was always about how much raman loved shagun but never mentioned that shagun loved raman because raman was the ladder for her to come out the miserable life she is living in her broken family

Raman strive hard to fulfil her whims. In show they also mentioned how raman encourage purnima to pursue her culinary skills as career.

Her life was set untl but ashok enters her life. To get her unfulfilled dreams fulfilled she didn't waste a second to break her marriage with raman.
