You are so right.. Veer never wanted to expose himself being the Cheel infront of Bani, toh ye Akesh ki soul, revealed himself. What a locha... I feel it has to do with similar to what you said.. it’s Akesh ki soul diverting Bani to getting to the truth of Satyug for not just Akesh’s innocence, but she can reevaluate Veer ke kaands according to her like Noor ke saath nainsaafi, trafficking of the innocent girls, Naags vs Cheels etc. looking at BTS, Akesh saving Bani from something it seems. But I don’t understand, Bani ko toh Veer ke bareee main pata he hai so I am sure she won’t be shock so if Akesh realize that she isn’t shock.. wont he will be surprise too?
Or maybe Akesh may come to unveil the truth either in her imagination or reality( however makers have to justify this part) and once that assumption of Bani is gone.. Veer comes back and not knowing what’s going on so he assumes Bani is still unaware of everything about their identities. Bani then calculates everything and locates rest of the truths of Veer and all of his life thus far while indirectly helps him perceive what he has been avoiding.

See, in my opinion, till now all of Veer's actions haven't been from Veer's rational mind, but from his heart and soul which is of Aakesh. Aakesh was tremendously in love with Naageshwari, knowing who she was and could die for her. Aakesh was free of mental complexes like "dushman hai" and all that. Veer on the other hand is always stopped by his rational mind from acting on the feelings which truly belong to Aakesh. Veer himself cannot understand why he feels so intensely for Bani. After Teer's death too, Veer could not bring himself to hurt Bani or allow others to do that, because Aakesh was stopping him from within. When Veer first saved Bani from the blast, that was Aakesh's doing, not Veer's mind. Veer says he hates shape-shifting serpents, but that isn't Aakesh talking, that is Veer talking, his mind talking. Veer has a very sharp and astute mind which does not even stop from doubting Bani. Had he been all Aakesh, I don't think he would have been able to do so.
Aakesh is purely in love with Naageshwari, devoid of mental complexes, and conditioning. Bani is Naageshwari. Aakesh ko Bani ka chehra dekhne ki zarurat nahi hai, he knows she is Naageshwari. It is a soul calling in a way. Rooh ne rooh ko pehchaan liya hai. And Aakesh was always open about himself. Naageshwari always misunderstood his intentions. And Bani is horribly stuck as Naageshwari. Others have moved on. Aakesh is needed here because he is one of the reasons, she is stuck. He can offer her clarity to the mess of Satyug and Kalyug. Bani definitely needs to be handheld to the truth, cause otherwise woh khud se nahi kar pa rahi na.
Veer is still very guarded because his mind is working here, not the heart. He never told her he is a Cheel, he hates "shapeshifting serpents". That is all Veer's rational mind and his lack of knowledge about his past. Once Veer and Aakesh are the same, it will be settled. Bani needs to really leave Naageshwari behind and move on with Veer. Who better than Aakesh to guide her about who he is and what Veer truly is? And when the time comes, Veer will have to embrace his past, Aakesh, so that he is in complete control of his past and present and knows how to handle the upcoming battles, he will have to face with Bani.
