Kangana Ranaut has been at the forefront of every debate against the Bollywood industry. Right from raising her voice around the insider-outsider debate to calling out the alleged drug nexus in the industry, the actress never steps away from sparking controveries with her comments.

In a recent interview, Shabana Azmi reacted to Kangana's attacks on Bollywood and asked her to stick to acting. The veteran actress told Mumbai Mirror, "Kangana has started believing in her own myth. She says she taught feminism to the film industry, she taught it nationalism I’m glad she spelled that out because nobody else had noticed! I think she fears the day when she will no longer be in the headlines and so has to keep making outrageous statements to stay in the news. Poor girl, why doesn’t she just do what she is best at, which is acting."

Shabana Azmi also opened up about the crucification faced by the industry after actor Sushant Singh Rajput's demise.

"My primary identity is that of being a Hindi film industry and I am very proud of it. Unfortunately, the Hindi film industry is a sitting duck; it is easy to hurl malevolent accusations. It is a systematic campaign to divert attention rom real issues, failing economy, China border tensions, spiraling Covid cases, and farmers’ agitation by putting the spotlight on the supposed ills of the film industry."

She added, "So ‘Justice for Sushant’ has given way to ‘Weed out the Druggies' the goal post keeps changing. Instead of focusing on mental health as a serious issue in our society, it’s sensationalism at play."

Kangana Ranaut and Shabana Azmi's tiff goes back to a long time when the Manikarnika actress had called the latter as 'anti-national.' Kangana had also accused her husband Javed Akhtar of threatening her to apologise to Hrithik Roshan.

Kangana is everything Shabana Azmi claimed but coming from Azmi, it has no credibility. She herself is everything she claims Kangana of being.

Making inaccurate statements, spreading misinformation, jumping into every matter with half assed knowledge, pushing agendas. Seeking attention. You were Kanagana, before Kangana Ms Azmi.

Eww please don't compare Shabana with Kangana. Whatever her ideologies be, she has stuck through it right from the begining and protested against what she felt wrong be it congress or current govt. She had even gone on stage at IFFI and directly protested against the killing of Safdar Hashmi which was done by some person from Congress and criticized the govt exactly when the accused was sitting in the audience! Actress par excellence and woman of steel. People like Kangu are not even worth her toenail! This was when BW still had a spine thanks to women like Shabana.

Shabana didn't say a word about SSR's death. She claims to be a proud veteran in the industry but didn't care about the mysterious death of her junior colleague and now she is ready to backlash at Kangana asking her to stick to acting.

How is the whole incident being sensationalised? The goal post hasn't changed at all but it has led from one link to another. It is bringing out all the worms from the BW can. Let it come out. Why is she in a hurry to hide it and shut it?

Don't have any respect for Shabana after her cake fiasco🤦🤦 I don't understand why people are poking Kangana which leads to her spouting more BS. Ignoring her is the best strategy. I wonder when people will understand this.

I don't want to sound insensitive but if I'm not going to support Kangana's Hindutva agenda, not going to support Azmi's Islamic Fundamentalism either. They're both the same. Two sides of the same coin. We're just lucky SM wasn't as powerful at Azmi's peak.

How so? Safdar was a communist and activist. Where did religion come in between? He fought against congress which was a secular government.

Can have Freedom of Speech for her and her Pseudo-Liberal gang

So? She spoke against the killing of someone in her community, someone with same leftist ideology. Are Muslims not allowed to speak up for other Muslim friends and family? Leftists for other leftists?

SA is not someone I like because she exudes this imagined intellectual superiority over the masses. But I've never found her to be fundamentalist in ideas.

In any case, point was she wasn't sucking up to people in power. Nor did she dream up a relationship and stalk someone.
