First things first, Rupali did a fabulous job of portraying the angst of a wife spurned and deeply wounded. Her performance today was par excellence - the hurt, the anguish, the bewilderment, the helplessness and hopelessness, her unspoken grief and her lamentations were extremely well enacted.
Liked the twist of Devika threatening the unshakable, unflappable, arrogant, insolent, heartless Vanraj. He flinched with fear and wants to remarry Anupama? His idiotic mother seems happy that her son is proposing to his wife, and selfish Toshu looks gleeful to see his father kneeling in front of his mother with a ring. Where did Vanraj procure a ring so fast? A gift intended for his mistress, perhaps?
Best of all, even if for a moment until the dastardly Vanraj explains away his qualm less play acting, Kavya, the wicked wretch’s expression was a sight to behold. Kavya thinks she holds all the strings in her hand, and that Vanraj is a puppet to dance to her tunes. Vanraj is indeed a puppet but there is a new puppet master on the scene, Devika. Lets see how far Devika can wrest the strings from the wretched witch’s grasp and make Vanraj do an about turn, a pirouette on his shiny shoe. Hope he falls flat and gets egg on his face. He has been having an affair with Kavya for years since the kids were young? And at one point wanted to marry her?? The gall of the man. The sheer audacity and sliminess of the character is retch worthy.
Hoping against hope that this is the beginning of a stronger Anu, an Anu that at last grows into a confident and successful woman who does not need to be at the beck and call of a narcissistic tyrant to realize her own self worth.
