Indian celebrities are worst breed of celebrities I swear.

They said black lives matter but when it came to saying dalit lives matter. Nobody of them spoke up except like ten people.

No mainstream actor or celebrity she talked about the case or atrocities on dalits in general.

Those who did, missed out on mentioning her identity as a dalit because of which she was targeted. (do not come at me saying otherwise, read the fvcking news)

They can't even speak up for atrocities in their own country. I'm so so livid

I mean Kangana spoke up but all liberals hate her so 🙃🙃

But yeah I was also very disappointed to see most of the placard wala gang staying quiet on such heinous crime against an innocent person 😡

There were vocal celebs. And then there were those who spoke only on a few matters maybe those that gained national traction.

But the public backlash is too much. If they speak too much then like swara they are called names and fake woke.

If they don't speak alot then it is - you spoke for x but you didn't speak for y. Muslim ke liya bola hindu ke liye kyun nahin? Up ke against bola, delhi ke against kyun nahin etcetcetc.

I'm sorry but ironically social media is actually responsible for shutting down so many voices.

Overtime people have realised that staying silent is less damaging. Atleast aap chup chaap side mein se nikal jaate ho.

Eg: Srk used to speak alot but after the backlash for intolerance wala remark, he now remains completely silent.

What is caste crime? Caste discrimination is a thing of the past. Nobody discriminates people based on caste. I don't even know the caste of my friends or classmates unless it's somehow gets mentioned by them. We are way over things like caste. Now its just the backward caste people wanting to take advantage of this caste system to get reservation in college and jobs. Because of this, we upper caste people are suffering.

I belong to a poor Brahmin family who wanted to study engineering but didn't have the money to take admission in a private college. So I only had option to study in a government college, but couldn't make it to the cut-off. But my friends who were rich dalits got admission because of reservation based on their caste. Now tell me who got discriminated because of caste? We upper caste people are the ones who are suffering because of this caste system. The only caste discrimination happening now is reservation, and it's need to end.

The political parties don't end reservation system to get their vote banks. The backward classes too are lazy who don't want to work hard. They want everything for free because their ancestors suffered atrocities because of their caste. Now they are reaping benefits of it. What a shame it is!! Reservation should end in India, otherwise it'll never become a developed country. People should be given admission, jobs and promotion only based on merit, not on their caste.

In which country are you living in? Caste hate crimes are the reality of our society. Pick up government crime data especially in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan. The village where this crime happened still practices untouchability. Go to villages in UP, you will see horrors of the caste system. Article 15 movie is not a figment of the imagination. It is the truth today even today.

Let's not go into merit and reservation. Yes, Brahmins are poor, but they have something called social capital. If they work hard they get the opportunity to climb up the ladder and within two generations they become economically better, and socially they were always better. But Dalits do not have that. They get trapped in a vicious cycle. Affirmative actions are practiced even in developed countries especially for minority groups and women. If there is no casteism and discrimination, we would have seen proportionate representation in science and engineering from Dalits but we don't. In fact, the statistics is so skewed any logical person would know there is something wrong. Like why don't we have 50% of women in all fields? Because of patriarchy, because there is something wrong in society. In same way we don't have enough representation from all castes which shows clear discrimination.

I was being sarcastic, but it's sad because many people genuinely believe and give excuses like this, when someone complains about caste discrimination.

There is no real freedom of speech in India so you cannot expect anything from celebrities. If they say something, people boycott their movies, throw rocks at their cars, politicians call them terrorists and tell them to go to Pakistan, the government uses their power to attack them through IT raids and drug probes, etc. The entire political machinery gets unleashed against them.

It's a country with a huge low-educated population. Speaking up for one thing would result in constant whataboutery. How dare you speak about Hatras when you didn't about Rajasthan? How dare you speak about Muslims when you didn't about so and so?

Every word they say would be spoiled some way or the other. It's better for them to just stick their head in the sand because whatever they say would be disfigured and blemished to the point that it would become meaningless.

The establishment made sure to harass those speaking up so much that they wouldn't dare to do it again. It was meant as a warning and it did what it was supposed to.

So they’re so afraid of the backlash here that they only speak up about issues like BLM, RBG that has nothing to do with India
