Yup, desis are actively passing, voting, and particiatping in anti-blackness in America. There are desis that are activetly pushing agenda to make sure that African American, Latino, and Hispanic kids aren't near their brown/white kids. e.g. They are the privileged immigrant. My uncle owned a store in a majority black community. He also owned a house there as well. He would routinely follow black people when they shopped in the store. Back in the 60s, desi's weren't allowed to own the houses in white suburbs, but as soon as they climbed the ladder, they bought a house in the whitest of the whitest neighborhood.
I dislike conservatives desi's the most in the US. The trump administation is full of them. They are anti-muslim, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-black.
*ladder not latter, lol.
Kuch bhi leke pad jaate ho. In that song they were high and both started seeing themselves in strangers... they met white hippies, they saw themselves as a white hippie couple... they saw a black couple, they saw themselves as a black couple. I don't understand this cultural appropriation and black-face chutiyapa, unless it's offensive.
Since we are on this topic. Let me tell you a story about immigrants in UK. My uncles went to boarding school in London. They used to live in South Hall (it was considered an immigrant community, and still is). They fought labor laws that exlcuded them from working. Now their own kids are activetly working with tories so the new wave of immigrants don't have the same beneifts as them.

This is also happening in America, right now.

So why didn't they paint themselves White?

Blackface is usually very very offensive...but in this case its not....for the reasons you said....Some desis pretend to be more offended by this than the actual black people would. logon ka ek mindset ban jaata hai...anybody that goes against it is a criminal..
Why will Indians respect Black community when they can't even respect dark desis and dark South Indians?

That wouldn't be discrimination or racism because blackface itself is racist. You would be furthering racism if you do that caricature of black people.
Further, the solution isn't to magically treat people equally. Black people have faced systemic abuse for far too long at cost of opportunities, progress, etc.. So if we just make everyone "equal", it changes nothing because black people haven't developed at the same rate as white people.
Think about it this way (and these are just random numbers, don't quote me on that).
Let's take a period of 200 years.
From 1-200, white people have amassed wealth, live in good areas, got great educations, wonderful opportunities, etc.
From 1-200, black people were consistently poor, they lived in gang/violence areas, education was poor, and thus, opportunities were poor.
Now in the year 201, let's say that there is a new law saying that everyone is treated equally.
If a white person and a black person go to compete for a job at Company A, who do you think is more likely to get the job? The educated white guy, or the not so educated black guy.
The white one, obviously. So the way to make up for this is to give preferential treatment to the black people to actually make it equal.
This is a good image representation.
Of course, the end goal is the riddance of the systemic barrier, but that is something that will likely take decades, if not centuries, of progress (and I doubt that will actually happen TBH).
I think you have a point. But we privileged people never properly understand the problems of underprivileged because we never face all that, and when the underprivileged start getting equality, we feel discriminated because we are so used to our privilege that we feel it's our right. That's why :
Men cry when women get some special privileges.
Upper caste cries when backward caste gets some special privileges.
And the same way, whites cry when blacks get some special privileges.
They think that they are being treated like second class citizens, but what's actually happening is that the second class citizens are being upgraded to first class citizens, and this is a long process which doesn't happen in one day. It's going to take centuries in this process.

hah i have heard new immigrants complain about certain neighbourhoods being full of immigrants..
my grandparents loved entertaining, and we would visit them and as kids and teenagers we would like cringe and be so offended when their visitors said the most racist things one minute then complain about racism they faced because they didn't get some job they applied for..they would also complain about affirmative action, gay rights etc etc.. those visitors were so toxic and occasionally we would argue with them LOL.. summer holidays in a nutshell..i was thankful for having parents and grandparents who had progressive views and didn't have racist/homophobc views.. however i guess it was the desi culture nana would reprimand us for arguing with adults.. she would be like "yeah what he said was offensive but could have just done in one ear and out the other" ....
