So you all are trying to say these side effects aren’t that serious and that’s why it’s okay to use marijuana ?!!

Bollywood is full of hypocrites and problematic celebs and I would never understand why would anyone wanna defend them

Ibuprofen AKA Motrin

Stop using ibuprofen and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • changes in your vision;
  • shortness of breath (even with mild exertion);
  • swelling or rapid weight gain;
  • the first sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild;
  • signs of stomach bleeding--bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;
  • liver problems--nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, flu-like symptoms, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
  • kidney problems--little or no urinating, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath;
  • low red blood cells (anemia)--pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate, trouble concentrating; or
  • severe skin reaction--fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling.

Reported side effects

More common

  • Stomach pain
  • acid or sour stomach
  • Burping
  • Bloat
  • cloudy urine
  • decrease in amount of urine
  • decrease in urine output or decrease in urine-concentrating ability
  • diarrhea
  • difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  • excess air or gas in stomach or intestines
  • full feeling
  • Heartburn
  • indigestion
  • itching skin
  • pain or discomfort in chest, upper stomach, or throat
  • pale skin
  • passing gas
  • nausea
  • noisy, rattling breathing
  • rash with flat lesions or small raised lesions on the skin
  • shortness of breath
  • swelling of face, fingers, hands, feet, lower legs, or ankles
  • troubled breathing at rest
  • troubled breathing with exertion
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • unusual tiredness or weakness
  • vomiting
  • weight gain

I have excluded the less common side effects for space. There approximately 3 times as many as the more common list. I also excluded signs of ibuprofen overdose.

And I read a comment that marijuana is legal in some countries only by prescription. That is false. Here in California recreational marijuana is legal.

And since we're going into history and whatnot.i suggest reading into how marijuana and "crack" was used to systemically incarcerate the black population in the US. One of the reasons I was pro legalizing marijuana. So this incarceration and systemic targeting of a community ends.

Substance use was always there, is here and will remain, legal or not. The way to tackle it is to go after the peddlers and smugglers and traffickers with law.

And to address the consumers medically. With medicine and rehab and education. Because they are putting themselves at harm and potential risk. The way we do for tobacco and alcohol. I don't see a difference.

Marijuana is legal in many countries, including some US states, like CA. In CA and states where it’s legal, you can go and purchase weed/ganja/charas/ whatever you call it from a coffee shop or a store that sells em specifically.
There are protests going on around the world for legalization of Marijuana. Canada has already legalized it. Once US legalizes it federally, many countries will follow, including India

To add more to this, Marijuana is not like cociane or heroine where you have to chemically mix substances to create it in a lab. Marijuana aka weed grows on trees. It’s found in nature. 🤪

I have lost track of who posted what but someone said alcohol is illegal in Gujarat and it’s true. Illegal but still everywhere. My family alone probably has enough whiskey to supply the whole country for a couple months. No one hides it.

What is the purpose of a law that is flaunted openly? It’s meaningless. What is going to happen? Are they going to arrest everyone who drinks alcohol in Gujarat? They’d have to build scores of new prisons. Should they just leave it alone and let the criminals make money and people disregard the rule of law? It would be better to legalize it, regulate it, and tax it. Stop treating addicts/abusers like criminals and treat them for their addictions. Alcohol is illegal in Gujarat but people are still drinking and there are still alcoholics in Gujarat (and yes I am probably related to some ).

I understand it's illegal in India, but for me, we're taught how drug use and addiction are illnesses. I mean we even call them "cannabis use disorder" or "opioid use disorder". These are patients I see and treat daily. So for me, it's just so insane that someone who is taking substances can be considered a criminal. They're not hurting anyone but themselves, similar to alcohol and cigarettes.

Guess it just depends on the law of the land, but to add perspective, this still feels ridiculous to me. For instance, in Pakistan alcohol is illegal. Imagine hearing that Fawad Khan is being arrested and summoned for drinking alcohol. It's just perspective, coz it sounds ridiculous.

As for as health risks - alcohol and smoking cigarettes (which everyone in India does openly) carry far more hazardous health risks than marijuana. At least do far, marijuana has not been as strongly linked as tobacco and alcohol to Liver Cirrhosis, COPD, lung cancer, bladder cancer etc.

Exactly this 🙌. Until 2018, it was illegal for women in Saudi Arabia to own a drivers license and drive. Yeah it’s a law but does that make it right always? It was illegal to be homosexuals in India just couple years ago? It was a law, right? Was it right? No.

the way everyone here is equating drugs with basic human rights

Oppressing homosexuals for their sexuality or oppressing woman cos of their gender is not same as that of making a drug or two illegal ...
