Just like I stated earlier this season doesn't do justice to the Naagin franchise. The fans of this season from what I've observed have never followed Naagin before. So them liking a new supernatural show is fair enough.

But that's the same reason the fans of the Naagin franchise has drifted away from the show. The marriage of the leads was a live circus for me. Never in the history of Naagin did they make a joke out of marriage ( of the leads )

Jo kand hona tha shadi se pehle aur shadi ke bad hota tha but this time shadi itself was a big fat joke.

They're making it worse day by day. This season was a zoo from the beginning itself ab new entries se Amazon na banjaye 🤪

I have followed the earlier seasons of Naagin & this season is indeed a refreshing change, not a rinse & repeat like the other seasons. You're right, most of the viewers of this popular franchise are used to watching family drama & revenge games - this season lacks family drama big time & there aren't too many women characters. However, one motif which has remained constant is the Naagmani, and I'm sure that when that stone comes into the picture in this season, it will become typical. The show has definitely found a lot of new viewers, especially the ones who prefer to watch it online, therefore the BARC trp isn't upto the mark. Otherwise, the show is doing quite well.

atleast it is not like some retarding female dominated saas bahu dramas.

And yes we don't care about logic. Wo to aajkal big budget bollywood movies ne bhi nhi hota.

I think this change is appreciated by some and is repulsive to most of the naagin franchise fans. If this season is treated as a new show it's easier to blend with it because there's no expectations , no pattern ( this happened with me with Silsila , IMMJ , EDKV S2's ) so new audience enjoying it is understandable and I am glad that it could attract a new lot.

But for me revenge IS naagin. So that being non existent is not sitting right. The wedding was OTT. Absolutely a circus.

I don't remember Naagin having heavy family dramas , there were mild family dramas which didn't last too long. It was mostly outsiders trying to harm the Naagin. Naagin never had saas bahu dramas , kitchen politics etc.

And Naagin ruled the online trp charts as well with mild family drama & revenge. I remember it topping the charts multiple times. [Especially N3 was no 1 which probably had the most family drama compared to other seasons] Even N4 was in top 5 for a good amount of time. The online audience has always loved Naagin.

But that never helps. They need the BARC to sustain on Colors TV. Leave Colors , EK herself will shut this season off if the trps don't improve.

The leads are doing a great job this season. I don't want this show to end this soon. They can do a lot better with the writing , dialogues , editing. The way they rushed with S4 for trp , they're following the same pattern with S5 and I am disappointed with the abruptness. There's no logic , firbhi thik hain because supernaturals lack logic mostly but there is zero consistency. I cannot connect with the storyline. No matter how well the leads act it's just that I personally cannot connect with them , understand what they're doing or what they're about to do which didn't happen with me in the past seasons.

They need to work on the dialogues so that people can connect with the characters.

This season should have been launched next year, this same show would have garnered high trp. The timing has been really bad, therefore the viewers who were already tired of Naagin 4 didn't even think of watching the new season. Anyway this is a finite series, and they are shooting amidst a raging pandemic, kudos to them for their sincere efforts & hard work. I don't find this season too bad, but not great either because there are obvious inadequacies - the vfx, light effects, editing - etc. Still, the concept is nice, the actors Sharad & Surbhi are playing their roles well, that's why I'm watching the show.

This season is bound to be different as it traces the origin of the shape shifting naag clan, how they came into existence & how the enmity began between Cheels & Naag-Naagins. Again, this season has a major deviation - it has a strong & powerful male lead who's a supernatural creature, with equal importance & screen presence as much as the lead Naagin. Therefore the viewers of the earlier seasons of Naagin are missing the ideal couple vibe between Veer & Bani. This season is radically different as admitted by Ekta herself. The story is moving at a good pace, let's hope that the BARC trp improves as well.
