Even at such young age, Khushi seems to be a brave woman, and a risk taker. And has her heart in the right place. She understands that dowry is not a good practice, and after discussing with her sister takes the plunge and goes to talk to her would-be-jijaji, believing that he doesn't know about the last minute demand for 20 lakh. Ever an optimist, she seems to believe in the inherent goodness of human nature, and the fact that money can't be everything in life (I'm not a native Hindi speaker and hence had a bit of a struggle with the difficult Hindi words 😆)

I've always quite enjoyed Khushi's monologues, and the way she interacts with Devi Maiyya is just too endearing.

One can't help but take an immediate liking to her innocent, carefree, effervescent, cute-as-a-button personality.

Her scooty ride to Sheesh Mahal is uncomfortable but eventful. I like how she provided an explanation to the flabbergasted family, of her dressing up as princess for the school play. And as the child innocently asked about her "rajkumar", the chopper crosses past them and she looks up, without knowing how significant that moment was to be and how her life is going to change drastically from that point onwards. For her very own prince had arrived, in all his glory, and without both their knowledge.

( I like to believe that in future, they discuss that moment, like Khushi casually going one day, "Oh btw, funny thing, on the day of my jiji's marriage in Lucknow I was riding a scooty to Sheesh Mahal all dressed up for the wedding and had a conversation with a kid on the road about me dressing up for school play as princess and there were questions about the erstwhile prince ji, while a chopper flew past us. Wonder what that was about" and Arnav going, "That was prolly me lol" ... Okay so a girl can only dream 😆)

The way Khushi recited that Shayari in the corridor and eventually landing up in the dressing room of Arnav's show and finally the ramp, ultimately falling into ASR's arms.... If that's not fate, I don't know what is 😆. The universe was giving not-so-subtle signs all along for these fated lovers.

All in all, 1st episode was beautifully shot, and is near perfect, if one can ignore the sound which doesn't seem to be in sync at times :p

But I'm not complaining much. I've watched the episode innumerable times. 🤭😌

P.S. - There's a rewind with ASR's perspective being shown? Why do I not know this? 😪

Yes I bet they discussed this on why Arnav came to Lucknow that day. Khushi by now would have talked about everything.

I think fans don't know It because they telecast Rewind only in India and UK..

Star even telecast 2 hrs movies with entire Arshi story. That's uploaded too on Hotstar.

It has been re telecast 3-4 times I think. So I didn't know that something was added in this Rewind. I thought it's just edited. About the promo, I do have a TV connection at home but I don't really watch TV. Even the other members in my fam who watch TV, don't watch serials, so Star plus and all those channels are rarely visited.

I do think that I might have read something, don't know if it was a written update or what but I remember it vaguely. You're right though, I'll watch it first and look for the written updates or analytical posts later on.

Not on Twitter so didn't know about that but I had heard about the movie. I doubt I'll be watching it though - I have watched such movie from serial thing that Star plus does and haven't enjoyed any of them much. 😅

I've this thing for the original that I don't want tarnished by watching something related to it but not sticking to the original characterizations, it ruins the world inside my head too. I even watched Ek Jashn quite late, but upon hearing some reviews and reading a few posts I eventually decided to watch it. So yea, I'm a bit slow at accepting new adaptations/ edits / additions. But will give Rewind a try now. 😊

Loved your detailed analysis of each scene involving Khushi in the first episode ❤️ I had heard long back one old interview of the dialogue writer Hitesh Kevaliya who had said that before he started to write Khushi’s dialogues, he was asked to keep in mind that Khushi is a girl Jo Darti Hai Par Karti Hai! In fact that remained the guiding principle of her character throughout! Khushi always stood for what she deemed as right! She never cared whether she came from a family of a lower social status or higher, richer or poorer! She would hesitate or fear the consequences at times but she would do her best to overcome her initial fear, jitteriness and stand up for what is right! That drove her to take on the mammoth ASR too who was intimidating but that didn’t deter Khushi from saying what she wanted to say 😄 . And Khushi also always believed in the innate goodness in everything in this universe so much so that she could also believe the devil can redeem himself (for example, much later in the show the way Khushi was ready to believe even that snake Shyam to reveal the truth to Arnav before the kidnap track)! She is basically an optimist & usher of joy. She loved to bring smiles / ‘khushi’ (literally) on everyone’s face even at the darkest hours at times sacrificing or ignoring her own happiness! She had her moments of sadness, nervousness, fear but it was never in her nature to while away her time wallowing in self pity! So even though life would make her shed tears at different junctures but in no time she would take it upon herself to make herself & others happy by doing anything & everything she could do! Khushi was basically that magic which could always bring positive changes in everyone’s life! Loving your analysis and thank you and everyone else for undertaking this initiative to take us all into the amazing “sapno ki duniya” ❤️ May this amazing journey continue forever ❤️

I too prefer the original IPKKND to IPKKND rewind! I loved Arnav’s narration though but the way they edited out even some important Arshi scenes & dialogues, did not sit well with me! Then those unnecessary flashlights in some of the scenes were introduced which was not required at all! Till date I did not understand the rationale of including the entire Babli track (which was one of the most disliked tracks of IPKKND) in IPKKND rewind even at the cost of some vital Arshi scenes! I don’t know why since 2019 Star only has been re-telecasting the rewind version of IPKKND & not the original IPKKND!! Star should remember that it was the re-run of original IPKKND (and NOT rewind) on Star Utsav which had fetched them the highest TRPs in 2018. If they air re-run of IPKKND in future they should stick to original IPKKND instead of IPKKND rewind ! But I had loved the IPKKND MAHAMOVIE in two parts on Star Plus ~ it’s a treat to watch 😍 It’s available on hotstar too!

Even I was wondering why Mature Content for this thread! Because of this, we cannot read the posts on this thread without logging in! I think if you remove the mention of mature content, everyone will be able to read the posts / comments here. It’s not exactly “off character” 😄 We need to take into account this fact that Arnav has changed in all these years & this is an acknowledgement of the fact that he has changed and Khushi has been instrumental in bringing over those changes in him 😊 With age & time our ASR too has mellowed down & Khushi has played a key role in this lol. But you can watch & then decide 😊 But the Mahamovie part 1 & 2 are NOT part of this IPKKND rewind. It has been made separately by the channel. The two parts of the Mahamovie contain some of the magical Arshi scenes from original IPKKND which can lift our mood anywhere, anytime 😍😇 You can watch the Mahamovie (Part 1 & Part 2) even without watching IPKKND rewind.
