Nausheen Ali Sardar makes a comeback with a negative role in Shubh Kadam that deals with the politics between two bahus
Nausheen Ali Sardar is all set to come back to television after a hiatus of three years. The actress will star as the negative lead in a thriller titled Shubh Kadam to be aired on Sahara One.
The show deals with the family intrigue between two daughters-in-law, of which Nausheen plays the elder one. Her role is that of the quintessential elder bahu who wields all the power in the household. This is until the younger one, played by Tina Parekh, steps in. Tarun Khanna and Ujjwal Rana are also a part of the cast.
Says a source, "This show is a refreshing change from the usual saas and bahu dramas. The story concentrates on the two bahus and the dynamics of their relationship."
Adds the source, "Nausheen's role is that of a sophisticated, urbane Punjabi woman who controls the members of her family but is challenged with the entry of the younger daughter-in-law in the form of Tina."
The script entirely revolves around these two central female characters and their efforts to undermine each other's position in the household. Says Kalyan Sundaram, programming head of Sahara, "The USP of the show is very progressive compared to the staple fare. It concentrates on two women fighting for power."
He adds, "Nausheen is perfect for the character she plays. We needed a powerhouse performer for the role. She loved the script." Nausheen however refused to divulge any details about the project. She says, "Yes, I have been approached for the show. But I will sign the contract after four days."
She adds, "I am planning to get back to television. Presently, I will be hosting a show called Arranged Marriage with Swapnil Joshi." Shubh Kadam which is produced by Cinevista will go on air from end of April.
