Pinjara Khoobsurti Ka|9 Pm Colors Channel History & Slot Analysis

The 9 pm Slot which is known as the most competitive slot has never been good for Colors Channel since its inception.

1) In 2008 when Colors Channel was launched it aired Gaurav Khanna starrer Jeevan Saathi show on 9 Pm Slot which used to score below average ratings against biggies like Bidaai and Kasam Se on rival channel.

2) Later in 2009 the show was replaced by Big Boss 3 which scored decent ratings but still not good enough for the channel.

3) In 2009 December Colors brought Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam on 9 Pm Slot which starred Yami Gautam and Gaurav Khanna. The show worked well but ratings never went up above 2.5 which was too low during those days.

4) In 2010 again Big Boss season 4 came and replaced it but this season with Salman Khan scored 3.0 and above ratings.

5) In 2011 Big Boss was replaced by Phulwa show based on Phoolan Devi starring Jannat Zubair and later Sargun Mehta. TRP were decent for brief period even the show ran for 1 year.

6) In 2012 Phulwa show lost steam and it was replaced by a thriller show Chal Sheh Aur Maat starring Avinesh Rekhi and Hunar Hali. TRP were average and show never brought huge ratings as such.

7) In 2012 itself Big Boss 6 came back on 9 pm Slot and replaced Chal Sheh Aur Maat. This season worked well on 9 Pm slot with good ratings.

8) In 2013 Sanskaar Dharohar Apno ki starring Jay Soni replaced Big Boss 6. This show was typical Gujarati Family drama but on ratings chart it never worked.

9) In 2013 itself Big Boss 7 came and replaced this serial. BB7 was huge hit for channel and worked very well with Gauhar Khan and Tanisha.

10) In 2013 December Beintehaa a muslim family drama replaced Big Boss 7. The show started slow and became popular with decent ratings against biggies like Pavitra Rishta and Kumkum Bhagya.

11) In 2014 Beintehaa shifted to new slot and Big Boss 8 came. This season also started well and brought good ratings.

12) In 2015 Big Boss 8 was replaced by Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. This show proved to be ratings booster on 9 Pm for Colors.

13) In 2016 November Ashoka was replaced by Karmafaldata Shani which was another Mytho show and it worked well for brief period on 9 Pm Slot.

14) In 2018 Shani was replaced by Bepannah which brought huge ratings in 1st week and went in Top 5. But slowly it started loosing steam.

15) In 2018 itself in May Colors pushed Bepannah to new slot and brought Roop Mard Ka Naya Swaroop starring Shashank Vyas. The show brought decent ratings. But again Colors came back with Big Boss 12 on 9 Pm slot. This season didnt work well for Colors though and fell flat.

16) In 2019 Big Boss 12 was replaced by Gathbandhan which was popular but on TRP chart it ranged from 1.4 to 1.8 and shut shop in 1 year.

17) In 2019 December Gathbandhan was replaced by Shubharambh. This show has not yet clicked on ratings chart. Opened with 1.3 ratings and peaked to 1.6 before lockdown.

18) Now in 2020 Pinjara Khoobsurti Ka has replaced Shubharambh. Hoping that this show proves to be a great success on the slot for Colors.
