I never understood this concept of cultural appropriation. Don't we all have the right to wear what we like?

Does it mean that as a Punjabi woman I don't have the right to wear kaftan, or let's say slacks etc?

It’s a genuine question, not that I am being argumentative.

I really don't understand this cultural appreciation stuff.
