How is athiya in the "talented but faded too soon" category? She was terrible in her movies!!
To whoever who made the topic. Your categories are super flawed. I think the whole idea of being an actor has changed dramatically in the last 5-6 years. Noone cares if you look like a diva or have superstar/mainstream appeal. If you can't act, I don't think audiences today will have the patience to watch you. If you're talking about DIVA appeal, there are so many top fashion bloggers and insta influencers who look 100 times better than these girls. They are stars also. I don't think half these ppl will last if they don't improve their acting. Chances are some of them will improve and become okay actors. But at the moment,I think if you solely talk about ACTING chops, i think the ones who have been around for sometime and didn't get their due are finally come into their own. For eg. Sayami Kher, Shobita Dhuilipalia, Sayani Gupta - these actresses have been around for a while now but they're getting their due now. I think they will last. I wish to see more of Richa Chaddha, Huma Quereshi, Radhika apte too. And it's true they're probably all in their 30s but given the content that's being churned out, it'll be exciting to see a new face debuting at 30 or 40 even. Why not? Someone who doesn't neccessarily have to belong to a 18-20 year old bracket or look impeccable. I think i'd rather see actresses who have a bit of maturity in their skills than teeny sensations.
And let me tell you the whole idea of being a "superstar" or having a "mainstream" appeal is also created. It's not some are born with a superstar or so called mainstream appeal. It's all image building. Tomorrow if you have the money, you can create enough coverage and PR etc to make yourself a superstar. Ppl don't even have to know what you do as a profession. They'll just know you as a star. it's all created.
