BIG NEWS: Hotstar Leadership team has decided to completely ignore the launch as they lost many subscribers on the day trailer launched and the total loses is about 96 crore . This news has come from someone working at a leadership level at Hotstar

To explain how consumer internet companies bid for movies : Hotstar had budgeted 72 crore for this movie and assumed an increase in subscriber base of 25 lakhs due to this movie . The cost of acquiring a new customer to hotstar is Rs 300 , so they would break even at 25 lakh new subscribers. unfortunately Hotstar lost 8 lakh customers due to Sadak 2 after trailer launch , so Its a BIG BIG Failiure for Hotstar and they have lost 72 crore + ( 300*8 lakhs) = 96 crore due to Sadak 2.

The ramifications are that Hotstar is now proposing a commission based model to movies and not paying upfront. Also they are paying significantly lower prices as they know cinemas wont release full fleged till Next year .

Bollywood is in deep shit.. Revenue from movies gone and also revenue from agenecies like Kwan that are involved in drug and trafficking will also stop for sometime ...Endorsements also gone for a toss..

Heights of kuch bhi. Those who love to watch movies they will always watch movies. Remember when they tried to boycott Dangal , Bajrangi Bhaijan , Padmavat and the rest is history.

and stop spreading false news.

Yes, this news is corroborated by a Senior executive at Hotstar.

This is the reason why there have been no interviews and absolutely no promotions online... as they fear losing more subscribers.. This is very bad for the industry as OTT wont be paying much for future movies

Looks as legit as "dil bechara was watched by 20 million people on hotstar" , a movie which didn't even entered in top 5 movies on TV the week it premiered

Crap.

Even if few cancelled their subscriptions hotstar doesn't lose on anything because it's a prepaid service, charged annually. People who subscribed must have paid 300 already, if they opt out it's their loss.

The articles like such proves how online warriors have nothing concrete to brag about. It's just them fake praising themselves because no one else is going to pay any dust to their movement🤣

How do we know it’s true? Even I can say I know a guy who knows a guy etc etc. But without any reliable source this is nothing but a rumour.
