A film can be beautiful and yet depress the viewer. Titanic is one of the best made films of all time and yet it's hard to watch for many people because they may not want to put themselves into a sad mood.Movies like A Walk to Remember or Kal Ho Na Ho should never be called depressing. Not every film is made for the leads to get a happily ever after, it can be artistically beautiful even if either of them dies in the end. More importantly Kal Ho Na Ho gave us a lovely message, this is to live every moment of life like there is no tomorrow- that's the motto which Aman followed and taught everyone around him to follow. And that's why KHNH is so special. Indeed the best craft by Kjo.

The way members are commenting here calling it as 'depressing' sounds more like they want to watch happy movies only, no offense. But some movies are artistic even if they portray the sad part of the protagonists. Like I have already told, a film is an art, and it can be beautiful in both the happy and sad ways. In my sole opinion calling KHNH as a depressing movie is actually an underestimation. There are many funny scenes in the movie which I still cherish
Well depressing things can be beautiful too. There are some art pieces that portray tragedy and yet they're beautiful. But yeah some people like to watch happy things if they want escapism from an already sad world etc. Art is subjective after all.
