Chapter 34

Just then Prerna came back with the bottle and gave it to Mr Bajaj. He was feeding Sneha and she was just sitting there watching.

“Kukki aur Sneha ko apne saath rakhne se use school na bhejne se kuch nahi hoga. I know you are hurt with what she told you today. I am too but woh samajh jayegi.” Prerna

“I am sorry, I shouldn't have shouted at you like that. Aap aap sach main theek hain na.” Mr Bajaj

Once Sneha was asleep he took her and went to the room to get her to sleep. He found Kukki already asleep and positioned Sneha properly beside her surrounding her with pillows. He kissed Sneha and then was about to kiss Kukki but stopped and was about to leave when he heard kukki's voice.

"I know now Sneha is your angel but I am also your buddy. Partiality kar rahi hain Mr Bajaj" Mr Bajaj stopped mid way and turned around and Kukki imitated her hands to come towards her.

"I might not understand exactly what happened and why it happened but I am very very proud of you for Sneha and I am sorry for what Mr Bose is doing with you because of me" Kukki

"Kuch jyada hi Mrs Bajaj ki tarah baatein nahin karne lagi hain. Aap Kukki Sharma BAJAJ hain. Remember that yeh sab aapko suit nahi karta. But thank you for saying that." Mr Bajaj kissed her forehead “ and I will handle Mr bose warna as you said if it is left to you pata nahi aap kya haal karengi” getting her to sleep. He stayed for some time until he was sure she was asleep, he made sure her comforter was ok and then left. He went straight to the study room as he needed a drink.

After sometime Prerna came in searching for him and She saw him standing near the window with a glass in hand. She went and sat in the armchair next to the window.

“Aapko sach main nahin pata chala, aap ka dhyan nahin gaya.” and pointed towards the scotch in his hand. “Aapke office ke cabinet se yahan shift karwa di maine. At least now I can control how much you drink.” Prerna and Mr Bajaj looked at her surprised and nodded.

“I knew of course I knew” Mr Bajaj and Prerna looked directly at him tilting her head and as if asking really. She knew no matter what it would be too difficult for Mr Bajaj to show the hurt that he has received from Kukki today.

“Rishab koi question mark nahin laga hain app” but before she could finish the phone rang and it was Mr Mehra reminding them that tomorrow was the custody case and they need to be ready.

It was the day of the custody case and Prerna and Mr Bajaj were at the court. The processing started with Mr Mehra presenting his case. He used every person on his list whether it was Kukki teacher or the student counsellor or Mr Rathod to show a very nice picture of the life that Kukki is living now on and Nitya was not able to contradict him much. Mr Mehra already knew what their plan was so he finished his turn and then Nitya started with hers.

"Your honour, Mr Mehra ne ek bahut hi perfect Image di hain ek fairy tale life ki jo kukki lead kar rahi hain. But sirf uske present ke theek hone se kya hota hain aisa bahut kuch hain jo missing hain jo hum sabne nahin socha hain. “Your honour values jo hume hamare parents dete hain about life about the importance of relationships. Ek bache ki life main personal and financial security both are important. And mujhe yeh dono cheezein kukki ke future main missing hai. She has parents that don't value relationships who have a very bad past of leaving people behind in a snap aur financial security ki baat kare to we have all seen the allegations on Me Bajaj” Nitya said looking directly at Mr Bajaj and he moved his head away shaking it.

“Objection your honour that is what they are allegations and nothing more and until a person is proven guilty he is innocent.”

“The scam is an open and shut case and everyone knows it”

“That is what it is a case it is not a judgement not a ruling and until that it cannot be held against Mr Bajaj”

“Your honour I would like to call my first witness - Mrs Mohini Basu”

Mohini Basu came to the stand and she was asked to take a promise. Unknowingly Mr Bajaj hand went and held Prerna hands surprising her and relaxing her because even without looking at her he knew that she was almost shaking. The personal life of all of them was about to be disclosed in front of the whole world and he almost cursed himself for not being able to stop it. Nitya started questioning Mrs Basu and she asked him some general questions like how she knew them and all.

“Chaliye ok. Mrs basu 27th May ko kya hua tha” Prerna was surprised at the date she remembered the date like yesterday. It was the date that changed her fate. She held Rishab’s hand more tightly.

Aur woh bhi aage jakar Mr bajaj ne take over nahin kiya. In choices ke liye Mrs bajaj wrong hain aur Mrs Mohini basu jinhone apne husband ke attacker and a murderer ko accept kar liye just so that she can help that too financially yes”

Wow.. this is one awesome read before i sleep.. 👌 Kukki sharma bajaj stole the show for me in last 2 updates for me.. loved her reactions.. they were all so natural for a child yet so mature.. superb part and great update.. loved Prerish comfort and understanding.. i am so glad Mehra is the advocate here so atleast the lawyer won't go hostile in this case, rest everyone will betray them initially.. i gyess things will settle only when nitya realizes her folly.. that Bose is gonna go deep into a dirty hole for sure.. eagerly waiting to read more.. i love Rishabh in this ff.. he is so humane and opposite to what stone hearted he is supposed to be on the show.. his emotions really make this read a total paisa vasool.. kudos to you for that..

I will make comment when the custody case gets over, yeh part-by-part comments se mujhe shanti nahi milegi... now another thing I just had to say since its bothering me so much, I am sorry for pointing it like this... but when Mr. Mehra and other lawyer is addressing the judge, it will be 'Your Honor' and not 'Your Owner'... please correct it that typing, my inner editor is itching to rectify the mistake...
