The "justice" system in India is such a joke 🤢

Instilling fear is not the answer to anything IMO. People with vested interests are hijacking the narrative once again.

The sane, rational voices are getting drowned out in this whole anti-Bollywood charade.

But I don't get why is Akki afraid? He is the symbol of patriotism right now. Plus, he's an outsider. What does he have to be scared of?

Thanks for your post :) I actually used to be very harsh and judgemental towards people who killed themselves, mainly because of the trauma their family & loved ones are put through.

But I started working at a crisis line for a bit and most of the suicide callers would talk about how the world would be a better place if they were gone and how their families would be better off without them because they'd think they are being a burden on their loved ones etc etc.

Imagine that you're in such a dark place where your self-esteem is so low or non-existent that you think you are not worth anything anymore and nobody should be burdened by your troubles, especially your loved ones. People feel embarrassed that their family members have to see them in such a "bad state" and take the step of killing themselves to not be a burden on anyone, especially on their loved ones.

Suicide is the worst thing and I would never encourage it of course. It's just very layered and complex and is mostly done to not just end their own pain but to relieve their loved ones from the burden of their existence.

I get that totally. And I hope to be better than i was yesterday but I haven't made my peace with it yet because I have been on the receiving end. Believe me it's traumatizing. Suicide doesn't kill sufferings they just get passed on to someone else. Passing your sufferings to another is selfish move in my understanding, and I will always censure it.

Since bollywood is so evil; lets do one thing. Lets just cancel bollywood movie releases in theaters once they open in India. Just release these movies in theaters worldwide except India. I think that's fair.

I know some people genuinely want to protest against unfair practices in bollywood and the concept of camps and nepotism. But trust me, the entire movement has been hijacked and corrupted by people with their own agendas.

There are those that are clearly anti-secular, islamophobic; dragging in the Khans at this point makes no sense whatsoever. How is Shahrukh remotely related to nepotism? Up until a few years ago, he was the symbol of the self made superstar and so well respected.

There is a communal angle to this now. I run Bebo's fanclub and I would say majority of the hate comments are related to her marrying a muslim man, naming her son a muslim name, and the words jihadi tossed in for good fun.

Sorry to hear about your experience. That's terrible--I can understand why people who've experienced it firsthand or those who've been bereaved wouldn't be so quick to sympathize.

At the same time, suicide is not exactly a choice considering how mentally incapacitated they are to take that drastic step. I know there are some religions that strongly condemn it, but there's usually a mental disease present whenever someone has taken their lives. Mental disease is as much a physiological process as cancer or any other illness because it has to do with your brain chemicals--something people can't control except with meds/therapy. They didn't "choose" it because chances are they wanted to live and get better, but sometimes, their mental disorders overpower their willpower and determination to live. Suicide happened to them--they didn't go towards it--and that calls for sympathy in my opinion.

Just my two cents on it and in no way am I making this post to assume the same about SSR.

Yes it was me. In anger I called him weak and selfish. I regret saying it but I have my own reasons which doesn't need anyone's approval or disapproval.

I'm baffled by the media reporting and how every new theory coming every hour mock his death without them realising it. I said this before that we all should fight together towards common goal of making environment safer and acceptable for people to discuss their problems openly. Holding and targeting a singled out target won't achieve anything. Probably that person will give up of promising career and you can rejoice over the achievement but to whole its contribution will be zero. It could have been a great opportunity to create mental awareness but "a genius guy cant take his life, he must be murdered" narrative is more meatier than a promising guy gave up on life dealing with difficulties. This itself is bigger problem than most are fighting against.
