It must have been so painful for the IAF officers to watch themselves and their organisation shown in such bad lights. They went too far in their cinematic leberties and are being rightfully called out.

As I said earlier too the heroism of Gunjan looks hollow when u stoop so low and show such elements.

That is because the FIRST woman pilot paved the way for the ones to come later....its like a woman of today saying.....hey I never had a problem casting my vote....its because the women long before us fought for us so that we could vote......Remember Gunjan was the first one,.....how hard is it to believe that they might not be having a ladies toilet or a changing room....we are talking about 30 years back....and I am not saying that Airforce officers that time were goons....but its not hard to imagine that some of them might have had problems adjusting to a women officer considering there were none before.....of course they must have made changes after that....the male officers must have gotten used to the women officers later on.....I don't know how much cinematic liberty was taken.....but I can't see it as impossible that the male officers were being a little resentful....

I have the utmost respect for the armed forces....but even with all the discipline and patriotism....they can still be effected by human emotions. Also the one that took Gunjan under his wings was also an airforce officer.....forget about 30 years back....women still face the GLASS CEILING.....women are still required to prove themselves.

I watched the movie and its really good and inspiring.

You are so right.. I still face the problem with some Indian Male co-workers... :(

There is a scene in which the Army Major asks the character of Gunjan Saxena: “tum join karogi". Even an imbecile knows that once you are a commissioned officer, you are committed to the constitution of India. Please do not make a civilian even imagine that it is even possible to disobey orders.

I have myself been the first lady officer to fly on the International Border with Pakistan, way back in 1996. I had the confidence of every officer that sat with me in the crew room. I was the first lady pilot to be posted to Leh and fly the Cheetah helicopter in the Siachen Glacier, an area where superstitious belief was that the Army suffered casualties whenever a lady visited Base Camp! But not once did my colleagues or flight commander raise objections to my flying or had doubts on my ability. My husband and I were both posted together in Leh from December, 2000 till December, 2002. If I was suspect, he would be the first person to object.

Of course, I do not deny that some weak minded and professionally incompetent face hardships. But that applies to men as well as women. It was not reserved for Gunjan.

Does this remind anyone else of Neerja's colleagues claiming that Neerja didn't do anything special like it was shown in the film after it's release?

In bold- written in really bad taste! 🤢

Good that real IAF women officer opened up about the misogyny portrayed in the movie and told the reality. 👍🏼

This is how biopics works

I am sure next time if there would be any biopics announced on other inspiring personality, all other people involving his/her portrayal will be concerned how the portrayal would be in name of biopocs
