She shouldn't have been with Saif's character at all.. that's for sure.. but I never got the sudden choice of Chandarchur either

May be because, she couldn't marry Saif then after all that. She had to marry some one at some point, and looking at the ott situation of pregnancy, having to suicide mentality, there wasn't even option of being unmarried in that movie. She knew Chandrachur well enough, even he loved her, could accept her with her child too. So, she chose him.

Saif not being her choice was right and hundred percent justifiable.. no questions on that

The society had already accepted her being pregnant out of wedlock in the movie.. why then did she just have to marry someone at that point? Chosing him was a practical decision but was it done out of love, gratitude or convenience?

I loved the ending and it was definitely ahead of its time and even now when movies show the same old ghisapita drama of tolerating abuse and insults of MCPs, this movie did not show the same. I was happy that she did not choose the father and chose the friend who supported it. Love usually makes a person blind and I always feel that one should marry a person who loves them rather than vice-versa.

Yeah, the film should have shown her raise the baby herself. That would have been more aptand also ahead of it's time. She didn't love Chandrachur for sure, may be gratitude and convenience both.

But then doesn't the other person too deserve the same? That he marries someone who loves him and not vice versa? Everyone deserves to be loved.. is it fair to marry someone out of gratitude or convenience if you don't love him? What if there was someone else who loved him more than preity ever could? Isn't it his loss that he ends up in a one sided love Wala marriage where his wife is not in love with him and always considers him just her friend?

PS. Agree about not chosing Saif.. that guy did not deserve her for sure

Did someone just compare Rahul and that abusive, Eyeing his sister in law husband in mehndi? Oh boy😆

Rahul viewed Anjali as his buddy.. his friend.. one of the boys..

He was attracted to Tina due to her looks.. yes but once he fell for her, he had eyes only for her which is why he didn't remarry for 8 years post her death

Even Tina felt Rahul loved Anjali which is why she said in her diary k she became Rahul's friend but couldn't become his best friend.. she said she came between Rahul and Anjali

Rahul was attracted to Anjali in her feminine avatar because that's the first time he saw her not as his buddy or friend but as a woman.. and yet he did miss her tomboy avatar even when she was hot

Lastly, Anjali loved Rahul.. 8 years apart couldn't change her love.. why then should she marry Aman

By the way, Aman was such a nice guy.. why didn't he encourage Anjali to be her usual tomboy self instead of transforming into a hottie?😆

I can't even begin to dig into what kind of husband mehndi guy ws

who's the mehendi guy you people are taking about??

Rani's movie Mehndi.. she was tortured by her husband and in laws for dowry.. her husband also used to eye her sister and in the end tries to rape her.. The husband divorces her after humiliating her in court.. her father too is killed.. that husband was an abuser, philanderer, murderer and so much more😆

In the end Rani kills him though

Oh man he was the worst form of human being. Just hated that character so much. What a disgusting character he was. I wanted to punch him so hard through the TV. And the whole family was disgusting to the core.

You are talking about Saif? Saif ditched her so for me, he doesn't deserve anything.

I'm talking about in general life if the love is one-sided or if your partner is an MCP, it's always better to choose the one who loves you (only if he is good and your friend). It's fair for me that a person marries a person who loves her/him as he/she may not hurt you unlike your lover who is an MCP/abusive. People tend to forgive a person who they love easily just for the sake of love.

You are assuming that Priety would continue loving Saif or would never be able to love Chandrachur. One-sided love is not so bad when your partner has already experienced a heart-break. She chose Chandrachur not just for convenience but she genuinely wanted to be with him. That's what she said in the end that I couldn't say yes to you that time and I'm glad I didn't as it would appear just for convenience but now I have a choice and I choose you.
