Good that he lost fake friends.

I think he lost his friends more so because his famous father is no more, not because of his religion. I don't see people around me making friends based on religion and I'm a middle class Indian living in a metro. I don't want to trivialise his concerns or problems, but that's what I feel.

I find this very hard to believe, specially in Mumbai. Being a practicing Hindu I have friends from every other religion. I've celebrated Eid, Christmas, Navroz and those friends have come to my house for Diwali, Navratri, Gauri Pooja. There's always been a mutual respect.

The only time a friendship wouldn't work out for religious reasons is if either or both individuals behave like extremists. But it's also very common in Mumbai to be friends for benefits. Which is why the small the circle the better.

So were his friends opportunists because he was Irrfan's son or were there any major belief differences ?

Eid ki chutti kaha cancel hui hai? Kon si govt ne ko hai? Centre me toh nahi hui cancel.

Anyways, more like religion, I think it's more about people ditching him after his father's death.

Are you seriously criticizing someone, for not being able to move on from hus father's death? Look at his age man. Losing a parent at any age is horrible, but its even worse when you're this young.

i did not mean like that i understand . i meant that he must have had friends due to his famous father not because of him.

hence he needs to move on and cry like baby.

Why would they be friends with him if they have problems with him being Muslim?

What will anyone do with holidays? We are not going to school or colleges anyway, I don't understand what's stopping him from celebrating Eid?

For christ's sake, he's upset and depressed after losing his dad. I do think it isnt about the religion but the isolated feeling that comes when you are low and people are not there for you. But please dont make such an insensitive and dismissive comment. This kid is 19!

His friends did not realise he was a Muslim before? They realised only after his father’s death?

Someone has replied to him, why government is not treating Raksha Bandhan and Eid as same. Raksha Bandhan does not gather crowd like Eid would, Ganesh festival would.
But he continues, still why no holiday on Eid. Areh, everyone are at home due to Corona.

I don’t want to use the term freely (after Mahesh Bhat’s comment on Sushant). But he seems depressed after the death of his dad. Hope his mother supports him enough to get over. These are tough times.

Anyone would be depressed after their father's death, don't worry it's not like Mahesh Bhatt who uses mental illnesses against people

He says “Eid Ki school se chutti toh banti hain na?”
That was cancelled but for Raksha Bandhan school was closed according to him

But I thought schools were closed in India ?

He seems more upset that his f*king team wouldn’t let him criticize the people in power (the BJP gov? ) and blames the country for that

Go ahead and criticize Babil

Hope his main gripe is not that (like many people) that BJP is in power

P.S. So some friends not talking to him means social boycott in this forum
