pardes was average to good; shah made it work.
i loved subhash ghai movie Hero and karz, the songs were so good.
then comes khalnayak and ram lakhan....
the best thing about subhash ghai movie were the songs. taal had awesome songs...but script, performances, rest were terrible.
I didn't like Khalnayak. Although as someone who has worked in a school designed to break the school to prison pipeline it is true. Those who have traumatic childhoods are more likely to end up in a life of crime. BUT still movies shouldn't encourage it. Pardes made a valid point of the reason Indians succeed abraod is because the Indian values instilled in them the minute they lose track of those values they lose track of their identity. IMO Pardes was his best film. Yaadein was crap. Taal was ok but it had a valid concept of classism. IMO I thought everyone acted well. I have not seen Karz. I have seen Ram Lakhan as a baby but dont remember. 😕

khalnayak was average at best too...😆he just made those typical bollywood movies...stayed in his comfort zone. it was a rehash of ram lakhan; karz was nice tho
How could anyone not like this
He was accused of casting couch.
His movies in 2000s were leftover crap from the 90s.
It screamed “90s called it wants it’s movies back”.
he makes mediocre movies but it worked in the eighties and early nineties. his best film is karz with rishi kapoor. pardes with srk though cliche ridden was well made.
taal though had a boring script treatment somehow was ok. after that it was total decline as he got completely outdated with the craft.

It’s almost difficult to believe that Ek Villain Returns and Saiyaara came from the same director. The former was a loud, incoherent mess...
