These were the words that Nimrata's character speaks to Tabu's son in Astitva movie before breaking up with him

So my question is, did that guy really deserve this treatment? I mean he had just found out that his father was not his father.. The guy he had never met and never knew about was his real father and his mother had a one-night stand that no one knew about and he was supposed to be all considerate and thoughtful about it the very next day? Shouldn't he have been given some time to adjust to this revelation.. someone should have at least made him understand

I think it was too soon or maybe I missed something..

But he was quick to jump at his mom? He didn’t take a minute to give her a character certificate? Why didn’t he give a benefit of doubt to his mom and research the facts?

Valid but I am trying to see it from his point of view

I mean, he just found it that his father wasn't his father.. He had been lied to his whole life.. His father who is not actually his father was lied to his whole life.. So isn't it like natural that he would jump at the person who hid the facts? rational thoughts are bound to come later

I barely remember this movie but I think the main reason was that he knew his father had been in affairs too and he ignored them but he couldn't tolerate the same from his mother. Isn't it?

I don't remember this detail but he had gotten the biggest shock about his paternity na.. I mean it does take time to get over that kinda shock and think rationally or with a broad mind

Calling her a bitch was a bit much, no? I think Namrata also saw what a chauvinist the fiance's dad was and she was disgusted by how he had treated Tabu's character. Going beyond the initial shock of him discovering his father, I think they show it as Namrata realising that the son has probably learnt and internalised all those traits from his father because he idolised him and she would ultimately be living with someone who had no respect or empathy for women, let alone his mom.

What a cracker of an ending, although unrealistic. Tough to believe a woman like Aditi leaving her home and that too 20 years back. Maybe now a woman might find it more acceptable to?

The guy he thought was his father also admitted to having affairs he never gave him a character certificate. He admitted to having multiple his mother slipped once. Although infidelity is never justified. The film is flawed in that regard that it tries to justify it. But there are also double standards pointed it out. Many people patch agreeing never do it again. And when you study the circumstances behind why it was happening. The woman was never allowed to have a career. She did not have many friends. She would go crazy in a house all by herself when her husband left her for months or days. Her only confidant was this music teacher but even they did not have a full fledged affair. It was also explaining the fact that woman's physical needs are just as strong as a man's. BUT she broke all relations with the music teacher after what happened. So clearly the one she loved emotionally all her life despite all his flaws was her husband? So why couldn't he also forgive her for what happened that night? They say you just divorce if you are stuck in a bad marriage but for a woman like Additi it is easier said than done. Once again due to double standards. I am not completely justifying the storyline. It was slightly flawed. But still pretty powerful

I don't have any objection about him leaving the house.. That part was perfect.. I just wanted her and others to be a tad bit more understanding to the son.. I mean its not every day you find out that your father is not your real father and you are a result of a one-night stand.. Don't you think he needed support to think about things clearly
